What does /jp/ think of Pixar's UP, aka Grandpa Carl's Flying House (its Japanese title), aka The Greatest Pixar Movie Ever Made, now that it finally hits Japan as of today after a 7 month wait?

>> No.3844062

Everyone likes Up!

Japan really liked Wall-E, too.

>> No.3844070

It sucked that they have to wait this long for it, at least now they know how we felt that we have to wait 9+ months for the 2nd Gurren Lagann movie.

I knew when Up came out that Miyazaki's Ponyo would kick it's ass because Miyazaki kicks everything's ass. I watched both and realized I was sorely wrong. Up is amazing, easily the most profound Pixar film and one of the best animated films ever. Ponyo was good but not spectacular.

That said, I don't like all Pixar films, but their overall success rate has been a miracle if you compare them to, say, Dreamworks, which brought us mouthbreather movies such as Shrek and Madagasgar.
