Units get all buffs and debuffs cleansed when they are full-broken, on top of having a separate damage taken multiplier. They aren't immune, the buffs are just reset one time. Debuffing an enemy with a whole bunch of defence, crit defence, evasion and crit evasion downs before breaking them doesn't work.

If you have a strong defence-debuffer like Shion, your best bet is to set it up such that Shion can apply her debuffs AFTER the break occurs. Break the enemy on one turn, then stack her debuff skills and use her last word on the next, while the enemy is still broken.

1) Full break will remove all buffs and debuffs.

So in what order does the game run calculations? Is it hit -> crit or the other way around? I’ve played games that do both. Some run crit chance first so that 100% crit would also mean 100% hit. I suspect it’s the more traditional hit > crit order but I thought I’d ask.

I know, but authors can make their fictional beings have whatever fictional traits they want; which I alluded to by mentioning the idea of a vampire sparkling in the sunlight as they do in Twilight. If the author wants to localise monsters for his audience or interpret them in some other manner based on his own ideas, he should be allowed to do so.

I play both this and AL and had the same early experience. Seemed like a very trite RPG with a touhou covering. And... that's a bit true but it turns out that there's enough autism in the game to keep things interesting. The bullet line and power system are pretty unique.

Here's an example: I'm looking to solo 3-3 with Yuuka in 3 turns, but I'm having trouble with the 2nd wave of fairies. Pic related is the spellcard I'm using. So I mindlessly slap on the Yakumo Family story card (+3 yang atk) because this spellcard is mostly yang bullets. But it doesn't work. I take another look. 3 of the bullet lines will crit vs fairies, and two of those are yin, not yang. Additionally one of the fairies is weak to star element, and that's also yin. So a yin boost would stack more with crit/effective multipliers. Additionally, one of the +3 yin cards has a +15% wood damage bonus, which buffs two of the bullet lines. So I exchange Yakumo Family for Overwhelming Firepower (+3 yin atk, +15% wood) and the auto replay now works flawlessly. The better option was the unintuitive one.

So yeah, the game has enough depth to not be entirely braindead. But more importantly imo it's a fucking mobile game, not a second job. AL has run into this problem with operation siren. It's a fucking pain the ass that does nothing but drain your battery as you auto. Fortunately Lost Word is really chill and takes very little daily investment. You can grind yourself retarded and max out the difficult modes if you want, or you can just chill.

TL;DR LW is an inoffensive Touhou RPG with enough going for it to be cool for Touhou fans. Outside of that there's probably better options out there, or maybe the gacha RPG market is just total and complete shit I have no clue.

Outside of alts the PC-98 characters will be exciting; in particular I've always had a soft spot for Yumeko.

I’m getting her in part because her support is so good that she reinvigorates older characters. Characters like reincarnated Yukari do good damage but have no buffing ability. Suddenly giving her 6+yang attack would be a pretty big deal. So it’s almost like Toyo counts for multiple slots in tower. She can show up to buff a few time and let’s others take care of it and then actually fight herself another time.
