You both recall incorrectly. The deal with the MC isn't that he has weird mana. It's that he is somehow married to a bunch of different monsters before even meeting them. Both the imp and the werecat are heavily implied to have been married to the guy before meeting him.

This is shown because the marking monsters do still work for every other monster except for those two. A random werecat distinct from the one you get together with even jumps the MC and then back off because she notices he's already married. Later the imp and the werecat comment on how they felt each other's mana on him (which happens regardless of the order of recruitment, so one hadn't met the MC yet, and the game does have variations that depend on recruitment order). They also note that the mana of the other girls on him feel "familiar" somehow.

The Lilim even starts the tutorial with a "I missed you. I missed you all this time" and finishes it by saying that "every one else has also been waiting forever for you". So the guy somehow got married to a bunch of monsters seemingly without ever meeting some of them and definitely without ever having slept with them.

I had an idea in the shower this morning for a demon realm item. A thin silver film that expands to surround a room-sized area that works as a 360 degree camera for monsters and their husbands to record sex tapes. Monsters use mamono mana during everyday life but so does every other living being with their own mana. Eating and sleeping is more than enough for normal activities and can also be used to replenish an extensive mana usage, it would just take a bit if they don't have a husband.

Others have also said this, but the diet information in the profiles is just their preferred or staple food. They can all live on the same food as humans.

I'm glad that being without a husbando isn't absolute misery, but it sounds like a dull life. It puts into perspective why monsters go sex bonkers after getting a taste. I have to rethink the Alraune, Honey Bee, Hornet, and Grizzly situation KC describes. I can't tell if it contradicts the husbando-less mamono not being horny which you mention. It would unironically be the most pornographic thing if Alraunes and the honey thieves were all dully phoning in the sexual interactions. The monsterization of human women looks questionable now too, as human women without husbandos could have more fun. I could see it if the comparison was between married human women and married monsters, the monsters would have a better life. I don't know how to feel about the fate matchmaking system. The inability to reject a soulmate gives me an ambivalent feeling. There is no getting to know someone and falling in love that way for monsters. They just know. Humans may not be able to reject their soulmates, but is it usually due to having dreams before meeting? Depends to get some of KCs setting tenants in youd need some kind of "force" like mysticism to explain why there are only female aliens, cyborgs, robots etc. and why the only want humans.

Id make it so that original force was sparked from the first time a human being felt true love, or is some eldtrich entity that is obsessed with humans and making them happy, and it concludes pairing men with monster girls and turning women into them is the best solution.
