It's a moongate. The first time I went in it, I ended up in whatever universe ragnarok comes from. Killed in an instant by every status effect and the combined force of 10000 ogres and dragons.

This time appears to be red riding hood and the Cheshire cat in some wilderness. I'm pretty sure red is the one killing the wolves on the map with strange diseases.

Once a monster came out of the well when I was drinking from it. (The city located to the west. Can't recall it's name) Nothing bad, really. However that monster used a fire spell and burned down the whole city. It was hilarious since it completly missed me and I was standing in the middle where no fire was while everyone else around me was burning.
That monster was a true bro. I made around 6000 gold (including the drops from the people who burned down) which was a damn lot since it was in the beginning. I should have taken some screenshots.
But yeah. Elona is weird, I can tell you that.

Its more like shooter than defence... choosing class, upgrading skill, stealing chickens, blow up little girls, rob museum visitors, hiring henchmans.
And then monsters will attack your castle in utter random pattern, all your critshots will be commented by girl on the tower, which can be accidentially shot instead of some flying enemies.

I hate how mean that game sometimes can be.
At first I laughed when I had 4 dreams at once where my equipment got cursed (so I had 4 cursed items), but I raged hard when I couldn't even buy a damn scroll of uncurse because I teleported every fucking step.
Teleport and curses as a whole are fucking annoying. I always have to search for that damn slut in Vernis who can indentify my equipment because she teleports as soon as I make one step in the city.

Unfortunately, that was never the case, as far as I know. I savescummed once back when I played so that I got either good mutations, +potential, or a Wish, and you can only have so many wishes from wells at a given level.

Step 1: Get a low-level monster ball (you can use one of the free level 5 balls, but you just need a level 1 or 2, max)

Step 2: Acquire bottles of poison/acid

Step 3: Find a Bell.

Step 4: Throw poison at it.

Step 5: If it died, gain thousands of gold. If it survived, throw monster ball (if it's really weakened) or throw a paralyzing potion at it (if it's not very weakened.

Step 6: (If you paralyzed it: use acid or poison again to weaken it then) Throw monster ball.

Step 7: give your bell panties.

Game suddenly becomes easymodo no matter your class or race.

You can find them on the ground in cities if you're Lucky. If you're a thief you can occasionally steal Sheena's Panties (I think that's what they're called - haven't played in a while) from Nobles. Master Thiefs tend to wield either shuriken or panties - until you get one or the other, even a rock is good in a Bell's hands because they attack extremely fast.

Well, any ranged weapon. I tended to acquire about 3 or 4, one with panties, one with a shuriken, and the rest with the best other ranged weapon I could find.

It's a japanese roguelike. As far as roguelikes go (which are usually brutally hard) this is comparatively easy.

Key features of roguelikes:
Randomly generated dungeons and items.
Extensive and thorough list of commands and skills (e.g. fishing)
Hard mode all the time (monsters well above your level can be generated. Don't expect to kill everything if you want to live).

Key differences (not usually found in roguelikes):
Graphics better than ASCII.
Game continues after death (most roguelikes enforce permanent character death).
A expansive overworld
A wackiness that can only come from Japan (shena's ass, little girl, panties, aliens, etc.)
