thoughts on using dual language visual novels (or games with single button press language toggle) to learn?

I'm almost done playing Yokai Watch 3, had a pretty good time for my first ever jp game. Got at least the gist of everything, and understood well more than I expected ngl.
Any recommendation on what to go for next?
I wanted to try some JRPG, still on 3ds, but stuff like Bravely Default has no furigana so they are a bit too scary to play thru with no help from yomichan for now.

If it's something I can play from my phone or 3ds when I'm on the couch rather than pc, I'd be very happy.
Please recommend DJT!

Stella Glow looks like some anime gacha.
I'll try it out totally, voice acting should mostly be sufficient in place of furigana I guess.

Prof Layton IIRC is chock full of puzzles and the like that need reading comprehension, it may actually be really good for this.
I'll try both! Thanks.

I'll actually download that shit rn, if I can't understad it now I'll play it when I *can* understand it for sure.

the layton puzzles don't need a ton of reading comprehension (tho i haven't done all the layton games), they are all sorta evident logic puzzles

it's extremely satisfying to get layton puzzles correct on the first try because it means you understood all the text and were able to make a decision based on it

there are some wordplay questions that are quite hard but you can look up answers if you get stuck or skip

Hard to say.
Most of my vocab comes from Wanikani (the anki deck ofc, not the site, I'm not wasting that much money), but after lvl 30 or something I started hating its methods more and more and now I'm quickly going thru KKLC (should be done with it in a couple weeks), and quickly breezing thru a core deck + mining.
I'd say I'm somewhere in the 3-3.5k words?
Playing YW3 didn't really expand my vocab a lot, but it really solidified my understanding of most (if not all) common grammar.
