well I live in Japan and that is kinda true and not true. There are foreigners here who are totally integrated into the culture and only associate with Japanese and they are mostly under the radar and then there are those who never learn or use their ability to exploit Japan like jvloggers and English teachers.

If you mean the DJT people make other threads about japanese language advice and common resources often without any sort of containment occurring, with those threads just continuing until page 10. This isn't different, same with basically every other general on /jp/ if someone decides to make a one-off thread.
You don't have to personally like or approve of a thread for it to be topical or allowed, but that doesn't need to be said on a site as nonrestrictive to personal taste as 4chan. nel.

Also it'll probably archive quicker if you ignore it, and will get more attention if you give it attention. Again, clearly how this site works if you've been here a while, and you can't stop others from giving a fuck.

there are naturalized japanese citizens that cant speak the language, people living there for 30 years who are still awful, people who cant speak to their kids in japanese. do they fall into the exploiter category? it would seem this category makes up a very large %, and I would reckon matt is better than at least some of the crowd you say only associate with Japanese. I'm not exactly sure what claim matt made that you are responding to, maybe he said he could run a business entirely in japanese with zero issues in which case I would agree with you. but if we're talking about what would be realistically expected from a foreigner with decent skills, then no I dont see how he would have a problem. (unless his autism gets in the way, or the fact that he doesnt like japanese cultural norms, but I assumed you were just referring to language ability)
