Good for you. Too many people today confuse love with lust. Lust is all fine in dandy if that's all your investing in a relationship. But love is what makes life worth living, it adds sunshine to an otherwise cloudy day. I used to think it was all a bunch of rubbish but love does change you. True, but it takes a while to see that silver lining. As far as the OP is concerned I would suggest getting out more, joining some interesting clubs, you know something you enjoy. Take it one step at a time, try a new club every week until you find something you want to stick with. Also I find taking long walks does wonders for my moods, so I'd suggest that; treat yourself to a coffee at the halfway point or something. You feel more energetic and less down on yourself.

Going outside scares me. I don't want to interact with people because generally they act like retards. It would feel awkward to walk by myself unless I look like I'm doing something (i.e listening to music or talking on the phone, the later being even more awkward as I have no friends and my 4 year old phone still looks almost brand new because I never use it). Even so silently walking around starts to instill some paranoia as if someone is watching me. Not to mention that just walking for the sake of walking feels dumb. I'd feel awkward drinking coffee by myself because I'd have nothing to do but stare around and listen to what other people are talking about, and grimace at their utterly retarded conversations, not to mention that a silent man drinking coffee by himself looking at others looks suspicious as fuck.

The longer you go without leaving the house/unit/apartment your in the worse it'll get. Trust me, it's a sliding slope, avoiding it just makes things worse and will exacerbate your paranoia.

No need to chat with anyone, just take your music and a book/newspaper whatever with you, buy a coffee, keep to yourself and forget about the people around you. It might be hard at first but you’ll end up tolerating and then enjoying the change in pace. Not to mention the exercise will improve your mood and level of fitness at the same time, there’s no loss and it’s certainly more productive than being a shut in.

As to thinking that every one is watching you, think about it, people are generally disinterested in anything that doesn’t directly affect them. Therefore if you don’t know someone they will not bother watching or talking to you. I’m guessing you’re not a celebrity or a government official or anything; you’ll just be another guy taking a walk.
