Okay, /jp/, /v/ here.

I don't get why you guys talk about Touhou all the time. It's fun, sure, but it's hardly Japan related. Why don't you guys talk about something...cool, I dunno. Your experiences as a gaijin being mashed into a train, or actual Japanese culture, rather than moe-threads?

I dunno, /jp/, I just don't think Touhou should have a whole board to itself. Can we have a Japan General thread?

Fair enough, but is there such demand for Touhou related discussion that it requires its own board? Granted, it would clog up /a/ and /v/ with similar shit, but it just seems a little disappointing that each time I come here expecting at least a few threads about Japan, it's mostly Touhou. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.

If you want a discussion of Japan you have to have people willing to discuss Japan. Most of the time those people are lacking in /jp/. Touhou, VNs and LNs are just part of the mix of /jp/. They just seem to dominate it because that is what most people want to discuss.

I would be happy to discuss certain aspects of Japan and learn about certain aspects of Japan but I know too little to do so. I always pay attention to threads on Japan.

You will have to learn to ignore the sage bombing and trolling if you want to talk about Japan. Too many people ignore the global rules and we have no mods because this is a slow board.

/jp/ is not /b/ but most people don't seem to know the difference.

"3# Do not post the following outside of /b/: Trolls, flames, racism, off-topic replies, uncalled for catchphrases, macro image replies, indecipherable text (example: "lol u tk him 2da bar|?"), anthropomorphic ("furry"), grotesque ("guro"), or loli/shota pornography."

I wouldn't say it is, no, but out of a lot of the Asian countries, I think they're a little bit smarter.

He could have just banned Touhou completely you know. He didn't create a board just for it.

We found our own happy balance, by having threads about VNs as well (which slowly gained popularity) and other otaku-related stuff.

The "people who want to talk about Japanese culture" were never a factor until moot gave them free reign to post here.

That's true, but this board has been this way basically from the beginning. Most people here don't have any interest in Japan itself outside of the occasional politics/history thread.
