MGE wise I think body type wise, most things are good as long as they aren't completely breaking the conventions of the original. Like a 7 foot tall dommy dommy Baphomet or Greenworm would be weird when there's other girls who would fit the mold better. More inference. KC has mentioned how extreme Lescatie's case was, but he's to my knowledge never outright said he thought it was too dark. What he has done is present more nuanced views and explanations of things in subsequent settings books, focusing on just how "normal" life with monsters can be and how even in the setting itself the lifestyle of monsters and monster realms is often misunderstood by outsiders. We see this heavily shown in World Guide 2 where Saphirette and the Wandering Scholar often present conflicting viewpoints, with KC as I recall stating in a Q and A at some point afterward that Saphirette is more reliable than the Wandering Scholar when it comes to everyday monster behavior and culture.

KC's also gone on record that the Wandering Scholar as a character in the setting does write the profiles and books he authors in a way that often makes the monsters seem more debauched or threatening than they actually are in practice, despite him trying to be unbiased. He likewise has noted that many of the Scholar's writings are not inaccurate so much as incomplete, since he tends to only observe a given monster or area for a relatively short time before departing.

For instance, in World Guide 1 the Scholar states that the origin King and Queen of Lescatie have gone to their room after the queen monsterized and haven't come out since. But then in the Fallen Maidens gaiden the Wandering Scholar's apprentice reveals that after the king had "rejuvenated" from all that time with the queen the couple returned to public life and details the many things they have accomplished. Fallen Maidens gaiden likewise did a lot to explain how Wilmarina's personality and behavior had not really become as selfish or one dimensional as World Guide 1 seemed to indicate, noting how Wilomarina's words of not caring about anything but her husband often don't match her actions where she is still a responsible and reliable person.

So a lot of the talk in the profiles about a given monster couple doing nothing but having sex and sleeping and such might be more accurately read as that is what they were doing at the time the scholar was observing them.
