I was just reading up on the official words about Hong Meiling. I find it cute that she accepts frequent human martial artist challengers who wishes to prove their skills in fair duels. Not many Youkai share their hobby and wisdom with humans. It's also cute that she is generally friendly towards humans (in fact the most friendly in the SDM gang) unless you interfere with her work, i.e., tring to get in the mansion. Otherwise she is happy to idle chat with you if you talk to her. I can't stop fantasizing what her human martial art challengers are like and if there are any romantic interests from either side.

Something people don't already know:
Her name kanji 紅美鈴 is pronounced Hong Meiling in Chinese, but these same kanji can be pronouned as Kurenai Misuzu in Japanese.
Since Japanese people don't know the Chinese reading of her name, they just read her name in the Japanese way "Kurenai Misuzu", or simply just "China".
Meiling herself insists that it should be pronounced in the Chinese way though, "Hong Meiling".
