Hey JP. Guess what Idea and Design Works is cooking.

"SONG OF SAYA #1

Written by Daniel Liatowitsch and Todd Ocvirk, art and cover by Yair Herrera.

Based on the Japanese PC game, Song of Saya tells the story of Josh, a young doctor trying to recover from a near-fatal accident. One thing is for sure, the special effects will be awesome, everything will move ridiculously fast, the movie will go into overtime, the music will be excellent (M. Night always has James Newton Howard) and there will be no plot or good acting near the end of the movie.

I think the reason people think Saya is going to be amazing is because they expect a 30ish hour opus with multiple routes, plot twists, etc. If you go into it and just appreciate the art direction, and are aware that it's just intended to be a short, dark tale, it's quite good.

I liked the game, but I rate it a 7.5/10, which is the exact same as Moon.

Saya: excellent art direction, horror presented in a hackneyed manner, weak character development, good soundtrack, average plot

Moon.: weak art direction, solid psychological horror, slightly better character development (Ikumi destorys Fuminori here), good soundtrack, average plot

As for the original topic, Daniel Liatowitsch and Todd Ocvirk seem to have an immense boner for buckets of mindless gore and violence if one is to go by Kolobos and their indie films. Here was Ocvirk's latest production called "Zombies Anonymous":
