Why are they so ignored?

Couple reasons i can think of:
- They are multi-boss and those were almost always end up unpopular (prismrivers, dancers) and it makes feel that rather then being two separate characters, each of them feels like half of character
- DDC is rare example of stage 1-3 bosses actually being tighly knit group and being popular, to put it simply - grassroots stole their popularity.
- they aren't really connected to main culprit of game incident, they and raiko are for a most part mercs
- Yatsuhashi has pretty bland design
- if someone really wants to feature musical youkai, prismrivers have nostalgia adventage

It's kinda tragic, their designs are way better than the Prismrivers which are all dressed nearly the same yet never saw a fraction of the popularity these once had, but I guess that's just the privilege of being an early character.
It's insane how next year DDC is gonna be as old as IN when DDC came out.

There can't have been very many western fans when IN came out. I wonder if the fans who were around back then still follow touhou and play new games as they come out.
