I know, that fucking format is a pain in the ass. I don't know what DVD player is the best for that (I played it with MPC-HC but it seems that doesn't work for most people), but I've heard zoomplayer and PowerDVD do a good job for that.
Also you may be interes in Chaos;Head as >>3768001 said, but the action there isn't really good. Actually, I think the game turned into shit because of the shounen-ish moments. It's still fairly enjoyable, though I wouldn't call it 'good' because it has huge flaws. Oh, and if you like shoujo-ai try Aoishiro.

There aren't many translated ones because of disney. Seems like everbody who has a decent grasp of japanese and the will to translate will always pick shitty gaems nobody cares about like disney devs or wanko shit.
Try some of the older ones like Divi-Dead or Bible Black, not exactly action typed gaems but at least neither disney

I can't get it to work right. For a while it was crashing randomly and after I fixed that problem the game would get stuck with the dialog and sounds repeating in an endless loop.
