More like /jp/ worships a shitty writer. For every awesome scene in umineko, and some of them are fucking great, there are two or three poorly-written scenes that explain nothing, don't advance the plot, and just waste time. It's like he has to maintain an awesomeness to shit ratio of about 1:2.5 or else the game will explode. If he had someone to look it over and tell him "gee, this scene has nothing to do with anything, might as well get rid of it" then it might be streamlined and therefore tolerable, but if I start playing again I'm going to ctrl past the nonsense until I see the blood splatter background so I can assume someone has died again.
