To hammer how normal he is, he has nothing special in him compared to the other dudes. Yves is the Licorice protector/treated as Ceres' fated one, Mathis is from an important household, Scien is literally treated like a god-tier genius and lastly, there's Lucas with his retarded strength. Normally something like this ends up feeling unnatural or half-assed but it worked quite well for him in his setting. It's actually nice that he strays away from the stereotypical childhood friend/big brother role which gave him a lot more depth.

But as per agreement with N+C(probably because JAST is too cheap to hire more programmers), they now have to wait for the underpaid nip programmers to to put all the text in. Game's 50+ hours, so imagine how long it'll take. If you're looking forward for the ENG release, pray it would be Q3 or 4 of 2022.

Not perfect but it was the best game that Otomate shat out in a while. Characters are likable and a number of routes actually had solid plot. The biology part is kind of retarded even if you only know some basics in biology but if you're willing to treat it as completely fictional it's not as bad as let's say, Code:Realize. For anki alone, at peak corona times 1-2 hrs (I don't recommend this), but now around 20-45 min. For reading it's pretty random, but my minimum is at least one chapter of whatever novel/fanfic everyday. I just look stuff up for grammar whether I'm stuck, I'm sorta fucking myself up because I'm starting to run into harder material and long long sentences.

Anki says I started in Jan but I think I started a couple months earlier so maybe 1.5 years (?), don't be a dummy like me and learn Chinese at the same time.

What you put in is what you get. If time is a concern, when you do anki set your new cards settings to 0 and add new cards manually at your own pace based on time. So like if you only want to study 15 min a day but it takes 15 min to finish your reviews then don't add any new cards, but if you finished your reviews earlier then 15 min then add how many new cards to reach 15 min. I don't know if this is good or not but it helped me avoid burnout. Also you might as well include mnemonics, DJT said it was bad because of something something out of context but if you read everyday you shouldn't have a problem. I really regret not doing it earlier.

I finished reading the Virche booklet. Probably the despair ending continuation that ended up being the most important is Adolphe's. It starts out funny with Adolphe cringing about roleplaying as Ankou. Then later on not only does he have to watch himself get cucked when she chooses someone else other than him, he has to witness seeing her get murdered in different ways for many timelines too, which is pretty much what Ankou went through. Turns out the thing that separates all Cereses is the dagger she gave Adolphe because all of them are different one way or another. So the Ceres he knows isn't the same as the Ceres he meets in new timelines. Basically, for Adolphe to both save and end up Ceres, how the situation changes depends on the current him even with Ankou's intervention. So even with Adolphe/Ankou's help, Ceres could still die even after reaching the truth if current Adolphe fucks it all up. Ends with him offing himself because he can't bring himself to watch her die over and over again and entrusted everything to the new Adolphe which repeats the time loop all over again.

Never. If there are parts I am too lazy to translate I will come back and do better next time if I thought the story was good otherwise. Many games where I am not feeling it I do scroll a lot without reading properly, maybe just listening to the dialogue in the background on auto, but when I find one I like I invest effort and time needed.

I still use a text hooker so I can look up vocab on the fly, even though I've read entire VNs and WNs that wouldn't hook without one now. It's just very convenient.
Sometimes when I'm not sure how to interpret a sentence I drop it in DeepL to see what it makes of it also.

I don't care much about people using MTL for games. I have to say that some people brag about playing games in Japanese, but you never know.

Anyway, I'll tell you all a secret. It'll blow your minds so hard you won't be able to come to your senses after a week: tons of professional translators use MTL to save time because they have to meet deadlines. Ask any of them to confirm, and also ask them if they have enough sleep.

Of course, some translators don't need to use MTL and who are pro as fuck, but you have to consider the conditions they work in. Translation bureaus can be a fucking hell. Also, not all people come to create a sentence in the same way (neuro linguistically speaking). It depends on a lot of factors, like your own thought flow.

Translators may be schizos, but they are also humans.

My issue with Atsuko and Udajyo is that they tend to make the heroine choose the same type of man in the end of their stories. In BroCon they shat on Natsume (in spite of his headphones) and made Ema end up with Subaru. In Fortissimo Futaba chooses Eiichiro. Eiichiro and Subaru are essenscially the same guy, ffs.
