What surprises me the most is that the artist had been drawing for more than 10 years and had an advanced enough skill level that through the past few years it changed into the more flat looking doll style that we know of now. Her older stuff wasn't perfect and had flaws but it didn't look as amateur as it did on Satori manga. You can check her older stuff on danbooru and notice the change.

FS/Lotus Eaters style of manga needs to be a continuous run, since it's used for smaller incidents ("sawagi", which clartranny translated as kerfuffle) and as a follow-up to recent games. It's just a neat way to update recent or old lore and add some extra here and there.
Though I agree another manga that focuses on a longer story and a specific character, new or old, would be nice too, especially with Satori's kinda falling flat.

I usually see dissatisfaction with these smaller incidents ending up with being nothing too interesting same way as they did so back during FS. If anything FS/Lotus Eaters style just hypes people up even if they should expect nothing to happen by now. For some reason I barely ever saw the same with WaHH even if it also had a somewhat similar formula, outside of the final fight but prev manga endings also warned most not to expect much. Think we can have other ways to add to the worldbuilding without hyping the audience too much over incidents that usually resolve themselves with talking (funny considering how incidents are usually resolved in the games).

sawagi are just that, small annoyances/happenings that won't ever have any real big conclusions. So it's just small stories that drop some lore here and there, meant for comfy reading.

Considering the reaction it gets, I think it does. Think it's more the general "grim" feeling of the manga and the small incidents being mainly two parts with part 1 usually ending on a cliffhanger. those that get resolved on a single chapter usually end up telling you right away what to expect.
Also, even if they're small incidents, some of them carry bigger implications, this is just from memory but we saw Reimu dying, a world ending threat thanks to urban legends, people getting killed and posessed, youkai actually dying, a human getting shot by a kappa, etc. Some of the smaller incidents end up sounding in theory more threatening than real incidents but they get resolved on a logical way as opposed to incidents where people just start fighting right away.
I really like the bits of information and worldbuilding we get from these small incidents but they could also be resolved with danmaku or with extermination on extreme cases. Or the premises could be less threatening from the beginning (like Reimu getting her needles rusty). Both of these happen on the mangas from time to time.

It probably gonna be unpopular opinion, but i really wish we got second series like Inaba of earth and moon. Basically a much more light-hearted 4koma full of hijiks, its just that this time instead of fully focusing on one cast of characters it would swap cast every 3-4 chapters.

That way we could have taoist arc, UM arc, SA arc etc, allowing less prominent characters (like say Grassroots group) to get some screentime going on with their daily lives.

It has as little of them as is possible in a world that revolves around Reimu protecting the order. She's not in every chapter, nor is she usually the focus, but a manga that doesn't have Reimu or Marisa show up at all is unlikely as having one where Yukari doesn't show up. It would be notably strange. It'd have to be completely about an outside world and not about visiting Gensokyo at all, or just some short one-to-few chapter manga. Nonetheless, Reimu is only important at the beginning after which she only shows up if Miyoi goes to her about something. It's similar to the fairy manga that way.

The problem with danmaku is that they are intended to be mock battles, possibly for mock problems. You can't just have a mock battle with a bottled frog causing a rainstorm and expect it to consent to stay bottled if it loses.

Last chapter the conflict clearly pointed torwards Okina being the culprit and Reimu went to the backdoor land to try and resolve the incident. This would had been a perfect chance for Reimu to go in guns blazing and start a fight then clear things up afterwards.
You can't have a battle with a frog but you can have a battle between the 2hus to decide what to do with the frog.
It shouldn't be done all the time but conflict being resolved with danmaku is the point of the rules and of the series so even small disagreements could lead to danmaku fights.

If I were to suggest a Manga Story, it would be that of an Outsider arriving in Gensokyou and discovering it as they go along.

Honestly Gensokyo is a great setting for an Adventure Story.
