Stop calling Yume Nikki a game. Yume Nikki is art. As a game it is boring, empty, and severely NOTHING. Its value as a game is next to none.
It is an artistic experience.

You know as bad as that sounds he has a pretty valid point. The "game" is pretty bare-bones, and has no real point to it at first glance. Then though you start to get immersed in the experience and think about the implications of what you're seeing. In this girl's head is a fantastic and frankly rather disturbing world which if approached as anything but an experience simply leaves you feeling unfulfilled.

It's an interactive structure for entertainment with rules, challenge and goals. It's a game. Just because it's a game doesn't mean it can't be art, but being art does not stop it from being a game.
