I get the feeling that even compared to the other protags, Sanae is even more extreme in viewing youkai as inherently antagonistic that do not warrant humanization or civil interactions (like Marisa), even when it is convenient (like Reimu).
So when she comes across a youkai who IS mostly harmless and naturally acts human enough that humans treat her neutrally/amicably, Sanae sees it as a youkai defying their role in a way which benefits no one, if not outright deviant. So ironically, Sanae's is antagonizing Kogasa for not fulfilling her predetermined role as an inherent antagonist.

I dont know, moriya teams up with some faction of youkai mountain like every other day. They rely on kappa and tengu pretty heavily so I dont think Sanae is inherently opposed to being cordial with youkai.

Sanae is just lowkey a Stacey and picked on one of the local losers.

Not refuting your point, but Sanae probably would only go as far to corporate with them on honorable business sense, while Reimu and Marisa dont mind throwing their morals away to corporate with them if it means getting a reward out of it. Its why Kanako and Suwako kept the ropeway event delay a secret from Sanae, they'll know Sanae won't accept using such methods.

Sanae doesn't have real morality. She knows she's either an anime or video game protagonist. Her thought process is if she completes enough quests she can level up to become a god. She's doing a "Paragon" run, so she'll choose all the "good" options, but only because she wants the good-aligned perks.

Fundamentally, apart from being Japanese, she's one of us. Acting exactly like most of us act while playing an RPG.
