Daily reminder: targeted sentence cards are the most effective way to combine Anki with immersion.

Things to avoid:
・Anime cards (the guide by QM). It recommends words cards, which are proven to be less effective than targeted sentence cards (TSCs).
・Core 2.3k. It is based on a very old corpus and sorted in a way that makes learning harder. Try Ankidrone Starter Pack instead.
・Anacreon. Anacreon is an infamous spammer. He constantly hijacks our threads to shill his shit.
・Tadoku. A commercial site that pushes stories for learners (basically scam). The core principle of immersion learning is to consume native content. Just watch more anime or read manga.

almost halfway done with the 10k WK deck, started in march but i slacked alot in the beginning (did only 15-20 new cards a day), now i do 130-160 new ones depending on the difficulty of cards i encounter, but i should have seen all the cards by spring next year

god i hope doing this deck will be worth it, but its still ten times more enjoyable than watching anime

WK deck is like core 2k/6k but it has multiple cards per word and mnemonic stories. it tests reading and meaning separately so you need to more cards and more reviews for the same number of words. pretty retarded

It usually takes a baby 6 months before it begins to babble words, 12 months before it says its real first word and around 18 months before it can say simple sentences, at around 4 years old it should be fluent albeit with a limited vocabulary

in context, it takes around 3000–4800 hours on average for a non-chinese speaker to reach N1, thats only 6 months of japanese interrupted studying, or just a tad under 1000 days if you "only" 5 hours of studying everyday

what could you do 6, 12 or 18 months into learning japanese?

technically speaking you should be able to learn japanese way faster than natives would, even if you slacked off you would be on par with an average nip, so whats your excuse for still not being fluent?

I don't always pile on people having on a contrary opinion. Lots of people have things that "work for them". That's fine; just getting into a habit is the biggest barrier to studying. And most of the time, I'd say not to get discouraged by people here calling you retarded, because someone, for some reason, will inevitably get mad that you do things differently than them.
But in your case, this is the most autistic thing I've seen. You need to take breaks. You will go zombie mode in the middle, and it will weaken your memory retention. This has been common sense for hundreds of years. This is literally the reason wagies are given 2 mandatory breaks in an 8 hour workday. For your health, even more breaks than that is optimal.

seems anki gives me around 6 hours average

i have hit the memory rerention wall a few times but it usually gets fixed by decreasing the amount of cards (i tried to push it to 200+ new cards a day) and i tweaked the review settings and new cards setting to make it more easy

honestly i have no problem remembering stuff, my correct answer rate is 94,36% so i think its fine atm

mmm in terms of guides i looked at itazura, animecards, learnjapanese.moe anacreon's tools etc and picked up general advice, you can find that on your own what i would stress is you should get to reading and watching native material asap, i regret just droning core2k and reading grammar stuff without immersion, id come back to yotsuba every few months and still struggle. so basically immerse while you're steadily going through core and grammar, you should look up words and try to understand what the sentence means but if you REALLY cant figure it out just move on (the intensity of this may depend on your level of autism). prioritize reading engaging content over "easy" stuff, whatever you can stomach going through with a dictionary and enjoy. lastly as a beginner i used https://itazuraneko.neocities.org/grammar/dojg/dojgall.html a lot, you can control+f to try and find what you're looking for, anyway good luck

I did it for 100 days and it became annoying that I couldn't remember kanji I've seen before and that I couldn't differentiate between similar kanjis. Getting a feel for how sentences are constructed was okay imo, but I like doing Wanikani and reading manga and Tae Kim grammar better. Feels way more effective.
