/jp/ has a funny way of trying to feel like they're better than everyone else.

They only want to like something obscure so they can say, 'Hey, I have good taste, I like unusual things, not like those <large group of people that make /jp/anon feel inferior>'. In this case, Umineko and C;H for /jp/. It's the same story with /v/ and Halo. It's a decent game, but people there who try to feel like they're better than everyone else try to deride it simply because a lot of people who don't culturally identify as gamers like it.
