Could you name some characters that go beyond the gray no-charm whatsoever idiot?

For me, the Dark General from Beyond was one of the best. Being the Evil Overlord of Darkness and be quite a decent guy at the same time, all wrapped into a nice plot with comedy probably sweetened the deal.

"Likeable" isn't exactly the word given the random murdering and raping... but with every single hero out there being either an overly cliché badass or a tortured soul, it's surprisingly comforting to watch a character so completely honest with himself that he actually enjoys life.

We've got weird standards nowadays.
Rape was a normal hobby for ancient heroes. Achilles got shot in the heel while he was raping a princess. But today if you want to show viewers that someone is the ultimate dirtbag, you imply that he's a sexual molester.
And apparently, violence is less evil than sex. You can show extremely violent movies where people are graphically shown murdering each other to a thirteen year old, but a young adult male and female having missionary sex would negatively influence the mental development of anyone under 18? Don't ask me how that works exactly.
