Some of the day 1 character LWs are so bad it is not even funny. One of the worst ones is Patchouli's. It has absolute no special effects at all, no slayers, no buffs and it is multi-elemental to the max which might be cute and canon for Patchouli but is absolute trash for gameplay purposes. Even her reincarnated version with 1700+ attack can not do anything with it.

What was with the devs giving day 1 characters LWs that don't match their buff types?
Pretty sure pre-buff Meiling had only a yin atk buff when her LW is mostly yang.
Marisa has yang atk buffs up the ass, but her LW is mostly yin.
Patchy has a yin atk buff and inflicts burn, but her LW is mostly yang, despite all of her other attacks being mostly yin.
Cirno has a yin atk buff and a yang fucking debuff, but her LW is mostly yang.
And it must've been intentional too, because other day 1s like Sakuya and Ran got correct buffs for their LW. Or maybe it was completely random and some characters got lucky.

Not one of the Yuuka testers but I've been worried about this myself. I don't do phones and decided to shell out for a decent one a week before this finally hit global.
My guess is in a year I'll either be taking this sonofabitch apart to replace the battery myself or just buy a new one.
I've done the research and could do either of these things but seriously, nuts to the major companies that made it harder for us to fix things and easier for them to make us donate.

Well that event fucking sucked. That has to be the most bland resolution they could have come up with. It just ended so abruptly too. It felt like the other events lasted longer and had more going on.

Also on a side note, are they intentionally limiting the characters that appear in events? Considering how many characters there are in this series, it's rather dull to see the same ones in events all the time. Did the three fairies really need to appear again when they were the focus of the last story chapter? Shion was in the last 2 events, and Byakuren was a major character in the cooking event and the Reisen event. Can we get some fresh blood? Where's Tenshi or Letty or Wriggle or Miko, etc?

Use your head for a second anon. In JP, the latest story chapter for global was released during a completely different event. So the fairies of light showing up is a product of global's acceleration, not a deliberate choice of the writers.
And either way, the writers probably had their hands tied on who they could add into events. Think about what it takes to add a character to the game: they need code, art, animations, and three (3) separate voices, which must be a hassle to coordinate. So I imagine the writers were limited by what characters they had ready to make playable. They could make characters show up and not fight, but that wouldn't make sense in Gensokyo,

There are a few 3* that are worth having one MLB version of. The cellphone is one you want multiple MLB versions of. What you're looking for in story cards is good stats (usually yin/yang) to act as a stat stick to make your LW hit harder, good offensive buffs (ACC up, attack up, specific damage type up). Nobody calls that spell card "Bullet Hell Paranoia", except for Lost Word. There's zero google results for that name, except for Gamepress, and a 4chan archive showing a post *I* made bitching about this 2 months ago. Everyone in the Touhou community, outside of Lost Word, calls it "Danmaku Paranoia".

For the same reason anything gets translated. It's generally considered poor form to leave untranslated words in unless there is no good equivalent. Isn't Lost Word global the first time 'Danmaku Paranoia' is translated by professionals? Most of localized touhou is fan translation, I wouldn't be surprised if none of the officially translated works makes mention of this specific spellcard.
I agree it rolls off the tongue better, it's just not a professional translation.
