It's up.
The drama is documentary style.
It was amazing to see how they recreated Kinnikuman's house with Ayano's 5 million yen.
I was surprised to see that they even had a CRT TV with a NES and other stuff, pretty quality shit right there.

It got me wondering though, would it end up being really adapted into a live-action? Prolly not but I'm still wondering.

>How do you know that she wanted to fuck specifically her dad? I read that episode as "teenager wants to have sex so she can talk about her first experience with her peers that are starting to have theirs, but she doesn't really like anyone so she clumsily tries to hook up with a random man"

She didn't just wanted to fuck to talk with her friends (she could just had lied to her friends, as she did in the end), that's why Junichi left her on the other shore with that sad expression. He felt "rejected" by her, because what she really wanted was to be with the man she "loved", her father. It was about her father, that's why there was a plot about her stepfather, that's why she kept going to the hospital, that's why she tried to lure a patient with a serious illness.
Isn't for no reason that she talks with both the stepfather and her friend about her "true love".
That's why I wanted to ask opinions about this series, I only see people have the most superficial interpretation.

But I concede that I was a bit wrong in the way I expressed myself (partly to bay anons into watching the series).

So this drama continues the trend of him handing roles to ex-Nogizaka46 members. Anaban was a good watch despite the shitty ending and the awful performance by Nishino Nanase. Kyouen NG was a good watch too, this time he handed the role to a Nogizaka46 member who can actually act, Wakatsuki Yumi did a splendid job. Hyouchakusha was dogshit, couldn't even bear to watch more than 3 episodes. Dunno if it's Shiraishi Mai's awful acting or the role she was given, it was just unwatchable. The story was kinda interesting, despite being a bit over-the-top.
This time with Shinhannin Flag he gave a role to Ikoma Rina (top left). She's a hit-or-miss because she comes off like an anime character but irl so I'm wondering how she's gonna fare here.

Watched episode 1. As far as free TV mystery dramas go, it was fine, just like Anaban. The drama created buzz and it is trending on Twitter for hours now.
As someone who watched many of Akimoto dramas, I gotta say that I'm so sick of his samey characters, scenarios and situations, going through some parts of the drama was exhausting. Other than that, it was fine. I should note though that I'm still skeptical about how he's gonna handle the whodunit, the howdunit and the whydunit. Considering his track record of mystery dramas, I should expect him to shit the bed in the final episodes.

I watched all of Hyochakusha and didn't liked it. There were like 3 major plotpoints/storylines that didn't got any resolution at all. At the end of the series if said "End of Season 1" so we have to see if another one its actually made

Again, that's the problem, people watch and see just the most surface level. You may end not liking but there's a bit more to it.
Watching only one episode ok, but watching that second episode where the characters talk almost exclusively in riddles and not understanding that you have to think a bit? Pure pleb filter.

Does Japan even make any quality films these days that isn't low budget indie artsy fartsy international film festivals aimed garbage or anime/manga adaptations made with a shoe string budget?

>> No.36926374

>>36925716
You’re watching an asadora (morning drama), asadoras always have these quirky, cartoonish characters, it’s a fundamental element to this kind of dramas and such acting is more emphasized there than in a lot of regular dramas. Overall, Japanese acting is known for having an over-the-top style. Besides that, Japanese acting might not translate well for people from other countries because of how different it is to the rest of the world. I heard some people complain about how overreactory their acting is but that's due to Japanese traditional theatre/kabuki style, it's a cultural thing. Such style lacks the realism factor you see in western movies so people who are so used to western movies will be put off by the Japanese acting style. That doesn't mean every Japanese actor follows the traditional style, I'm sure you'll find plenty of movies with that sort of acting but it's just not the cultural norm.

The writing is post-modernist in the worst way possible. It makes strawmans out of caricatures of Japanese society in a very cliched way. I understand what it's doing by trying to make the same old plotline of "weird but cool sensei makes school life better," but this isn't the way to do it. I'm also not belittling its intentions since it feels like the writer cares for people and wants to defend certain groups of japanese society but it's completely misplaced kindness. At the end, it's a kind of blunt form of propaganda for the writer's personal views which seem to coincide with people from Tokyo that I've met in the past who don't really question their own stances on life.
Sorry for the diatribe but it pains me to see this happen to Japan of all places. Again, the message isn't a bad thing but this way of thinking only leads to worse problems. It's ironic how at the end, what gets the female student to understand what was wrong is how self centered and selfish she was behaving.

It's a crime she's not as popular as some other actresses or get as much work as them. It's probably because she belongs to a small, weak talent agency who can't compete with the big dons behind today's popular actresses. I think she's the only talent keeping her agency afloat today.

The company is a "literal who" tier. They are a young talent agency, not even 20 years in the biz. The only notable talent they have is Imada. I think when her contract is up and if she decides to leave, some other bigger agency would sign her in a heartbeat. It will prolly not happen though because Japanese people are mostly loyal to their companies.
>>36941184
I'm not sure if you're a newfag to the J-showbiz or just clueless but acting abilities has nothing to do with getting more roles. Are you implying popular actresses like Hashimoto and Hamabe are good actresses? They're backed by big-name agencies that keep pumping them with work. Japanese companies are all about hierarchy and connections, deals that happen behind close doors. It's the reason why Janiizu are everywhere on the Japanese TV. You're saying those shitters can act? Imada's agency is very small-time, her fame and popularity have grown far too big compared to their small-time name. She'd get more works if she decides to leave them for a bigger agency.

In early October, he has a filming and called her to the hotel. In October 11 he entered her condominium with master key. Higashide agency said that they already ask him and everything seems true.

This drama is weird.
I love how they're mixing between real shit (real celebs, Sono's movies, Kinnikuman references) and urban legends/internet rumors.
So Isomura Hayato dropped himself from the project because he was scared shitless of a Kinkeshi curse that makes the lead actor erased? This is so trippy

Interesting, I was always under the impression that Japanese celebrities generally avoided anything that could be described as political because that’s considered the norm and to do so could cause a controversy since it’s not an actors “place” to do so. But that's the charm of this sound novel. Them bonding together and having fun times, little by little things get south and it ends up in a massacre. If the SoL parts don't suit your taste, might as well just press the skip button and move the story forward. The SoL tend to happen during school time and the matsuri with a little bit here and there depending on where you're in the story.
>I heard that the movies are pretty cool but only cover first act which I am already familiar with.
The movies are carried by how great the original story is, the acting though is offensively horrendous.

You mean as big/popular as Anaban or similar to Anaban's style? If it's the latter, there's a possibility but it's low. If this drama did nothing more than following Anaban's style then I don't see it becoming as popular. They're already doing it on episode 1, with them making everyone looks suspicious. It's great but too samey to Anaban. One thing I believe made Anaban as exciting as it was at the time was the setting. Almost all the crimes happened in the building, the eerie feeling of the criminal being so close by made me very tensed up personally. Shinhannin Flag doesn't have that I think. Which makes me hope that it doesn't follow the Anaban style and create a new feeling of eeriness.

To be honest, from what I've seen up until now, I think the word "real culprit" makes it looks like there's only one criminal which is true but I'm sure each of the suspects have done something bad, either illegal or just something bad or frowned upon by society, not specifically illegal.
