heyyy i remember doing something like that.
i wouldn't eat there but id finish my lunch then go cuz i was self conscious about eating alone
kinda bums me out now that i think about it. i bullied pretty hard to the point i was considering suicide, but then my parents bought a new house and i switched schools.
everyone there was pretty nice, but being bullied for 4 years kinda left me socially retarded. i didn't know how to make friends or just hold a conversation, so i was just kind of a loner

I really don't get the eating alone thing. I was the kind of kid who got bullied in elementary school and "kinda bullied but not really" in high school and up, but I don't remember anyone ever being stigmatized for eating alone. Must be an American thing that American soldiers introduced into superior Japanese culture through their media.
