on a recent /g/ poll, you could infer were about 40% tripfag and 60% anonymous posters on the standard board.
And since there's enough tripfags to make fucking lists of triptier cancer threads, the population of /jp/ is possibly quite high. This of course not accounting for the many lurkers who do not post or post extremely rarely.

The percentage of active contributors is small on every board. But in aggregate they can form a large group. One reason almost all anonymous boards outside 4chan go nowhere fast is because they can get visitors but can count themselves lucky to get more than a few major contributors.

I know I got very frustrated when I was left as the only contributor on a formerly popular board over at iichan. I quit in disgust when I checked Alexa and it claimed my efforts were still pulling in over 16000 pageviews a day but none of the dipshits could be bothered to post. Granted, those Alexa numbers were probably inflated but still, you know, why bother.

>> No.3652101

A good example of a tripfriend who hasn't changed his trip since he got here is Croatia and he has 21k posts. I'm too lazy to count the exact number of days since /jp/ exists, but let's round it up to 2 years. That's 30 posts a day.

Let's say that's the average for every poster on /jp/, trip or not.

3.65m posts in ~2 years = 5k posts a day.
5000/30= 166 posters (at 30posts/day) per day.

It should be at least 50, really. 30 sounds like a ridiculously low number. When there are at least few good threads active, doing 10 posts in a 30 minutes should be piss easy.

>> No.3652221

It really depends on the day I think. Somedays I can easily make 50 posts, and some only 10 based on what the current threads are.

There are days when everyone takes it easy. I used Croatia as an average, because he's the only tripfriend who's been here since the beginning and has never changed his trip.

It's possible that we have different "levels" of committed posters, but the average for those should be technically around 30.

One post every three minutes? Sometimes thats the posting rate of the entire board.

I can't even guess at how many posts I make a day because it varies so much, even if I spend about the same amount of time on /jp/ every day. It really depends on the threads. I think this is only my second or third post today.
