Depends quite highly about who you ask this question, also if majority of people were homos then world would just fall in the chaos, but same time it might be necessary since there is just too many people in world even now, one saving grace beign that most of them are content staying in their own country and doing work with wageslave salaries or worse. It's Touhou, there aren't any male characters to cosplay. If you want to cosplay Touhou as a dude, you either get in a skirt or just don't. I guarantee most people don't want to choose who to cosplay from Rinnosuke, the unnamed fortune teller yokai from FS, or the catfish from Hisotensoku.

Thus, when men see that Touhou characters aren't real, they become disappointed with the world. As a result, some of them try to make them real in the only way they can: by becoming a representation of them. Boys don't cosplay Touhou, men do. Men who are willing to sacrifice who they are to make 2hu real.
