With the occasional reoccurring discussion surrounding the voice actors in Remake and comparisons to the old, it got me thinking...

I can't be the only one who thought that the voice acting in Melty Blood Actress Again was terrible, right? It felt so off compared to Act Cadenza and the earlier entries. It was such a major turn off for me when MBAA was first getting shown off. Almost every character was a major downgrade in their delivery.

I've heard said a long time ago that the voice actors were the same, so I was especially confused in why they sounded so terrible in MBAA. Haven't confirmed if that was the case however.

A lot of the time, artists don't put tags or captions with the character's name or series either.
Finding fanart in twitter is a pain; the most you can do is find a couple of artists that hyperfocus on that character and follow whoever they're following.

I'm one of the people working on it, not MTL anon though.
The deepLuna text injection program has come far enough along in development that individual translators/editors can write lines and mod them into the game very quickly to verify that they show up correctly with the various text effects in game.
The script is split into days and routes (i.e. Arc day one), so the editors basically pick a day and start working. I can say for sure that the common route (first two days) is basically finished, and the next two days of Ciel's route are also done. We'll probably release whatever we have done when the end of September rolls around and keep going from there. I'd like to think that'll be the majority of the game, but Type-Moon TLs seem a little cursed so I won't tempt fate.

I think C-Roa was much cooler gameplay wise but also really difficult to balance. He was joke character tier in MBAA, very mediocre tools compounded with a need to manage resources just made him abysmal. The orbs are awesome and versatile but that's somewhat the problem, how do you balance those? Makes sense that once they buffed Roa, he ended up being way too good at just about everything.
H-Roa on the other hand has a much clearer design focus. He's an aggressive rushdown and has nightmare pressure, at the cost of mediocre damage on a clean hit and pressure resets to break your guard gauge in place of mixups. It makes sense they'd go with this one, that's easier to work with.

It has a section in it that contains Nasu's notes about his thoughts for every single day/chapter. There's a part that talks about Kugamine (fat guy in KT) possibly being in the mansion and creating a major change of Hisui's route. Yeah you misread that. And I think that's just a joke that goes back to KT. Kugamine's role in KT was originally going to be a side story in which he sexually harasses Hisui. There's no way Nasu would actually put that in Hisui's route.
Those notes are indeed the most important part of the staff book though. They pretty much confirm that Nero is still alive and give some credence to the idea of a true Arc route yet to come. It's also just interesting reading Nasu's thoughts on his old writing (although the notes themselves are now as old as Tsukihime was when he wrote them). I think it's a shame how Nasu felt he had to be as loyal as possible to Arc's original route despite wanting to change stuff like Roa's fake MEoDP.
I also laughed when he described the part where Shiki's not sure whether or not the nun he saw at night that looked exactly like Ciel, was in fact Ciel as ひどい.

Noel's main purpose in the story is pretty clearly to showcase and hit home Ciel's trauma much more intensely. I think Noel was overall handled very well and was quite effective. The original game really doesn't touch on the hell Ciel went through much at all.

For a difference of opinion, I like Hisui's more intense, lighter blue eyes in the remake; they're beautiful and maybe even an improvement on the original. Kohaku doesn't look too bad either. That's all the good things I can say though.
