Yes but people here are totally absorbed into the doujin scene yet somehow cannot grasp the entirely laissez-faire approach they have to IP.

Then again I shouldn't use the concepts of touhou fan and doujin fan interchangeably.

>>Then again I shouldn't use the concepts of touhou fan and doujin fan interchangeably.

From what I've seen the vast majority of (Western) Touhou fans don't care about other doujin stuff for the most part.

Hell, I've even seen people with 100 gigs of Touhou fan remixes but no remixes from other video games.

>> No.3647164

Most of the people here are not into the doujin scene. They just like touhou, which happens to be doujin.

>> No.3647175

What doujin scene? I'm into the doujin software scene but don't care much for doujin manga or whatever, which most people on /jp/ seem to be into.

>> No.3647204

Thought it's somewhat seperate from the rest you could consider garage kits very doujin too.

>> No.3647210

By doujin scene I mean all media released under doujin boundaries, be it conventions, doujin shops, etc. This includes parodies or original concepts. Aside from the usual umineko/touhou threads, I don't see much discussion about music or soft releases. And doujin manga usually ends up in /a/ except if it's touhou/umineko so...

I guess it's possible that more people are into doujin things but they just don't get discussed here because they assume them to be not /jp/ related, but you're probably right anyway.

>> No.3647229

>>3647210

You also have to consider the limitation of what there is to discuss since what almost all of us consume is limited to what people put on share.

There's loads of music discussion around conventions but since most of the uploads are touhou based well...

>> No.3647242

You can thank the lovely sagefags and janitors for ruining touhou discussion

Touhou music? No. That belongs on /mu.
Doujins? Anime? Go to /a/ faggot.

The only think that is relevant is figures. Last couple times I tried a touhou image dump it got deleted and sage bombed.

Speaking of Touhou figures, these are coming out in Spring.
http://www.toranoana.jp/info/hobby/100301_touhou/

Does anyone know if they'll be sold internationally or on the web at all?

>> No.3647279

>>3647246

Day two of comiket 76 was about 20% touhou. It had it's own section that took up all of East 1 and some of East 2 then there were the big circles that had booths on the outside.

Almost all touhou stuff was based in day 2 so day 1 and 3 were virtually void of it (I am not including what the industry was putting out I know the GS booth had some touhou stuff).

Certainly it had more then it's share of the overall attendence numbers but not 50%.

>> No.3647304

I guess you could say that the fact that it has many dedicated conventions drains the circle numbers at comiket. What are attendence numbers like at reitaisai anyway?

50% is still way too high though.

I haven't heard a word, but I'm definitely buying them no matter what. 6400 yen plus whatever shipping required for eight cute figures is definitely worth it.

>> No.3647307

>>3647279
Touhou took up about 50% of the one hall, so like thats 1/4 of day 2. I cant vouch for day 3 but I imagine the presence was less then.

>> No.3647308

>>3647279
Well, it's not like you can count everything doujin to be "/jp/ related". Ero doujinshi for instance is a big chunk of the total. And for that matter, most of the doujinshi ero or non-ero released at comike is not "/jp/ related". So we end up only with doujin soft, albums and goods.

Day 3 had the highest attendence numbers. And there's still the west halls so more like 1/5-1/6 on day 2.

That seems like it would be hard to measure. Gershwin's music has been around a lot longer, but then there is about a thousand metric fucktons of Touhou music as well. It's a mystery.

Don't get me wrong. I like /jp/ the way it is now. But the common /jp/er doesn't have much to talk about besides touhou. It can get boring, so /a/ or /v/ threads end up here eventually. Aside doujin and VN, there is not a lot to talk about while staying within the boundaries of what the board is supposed to be about. I don't know why I keep visiting this board anymore.

I've wondered about this. I think he claims most tribute/remix albums by a mile. But there may be artists with more actual remixes, and there are bands that get covered constantly and composers who've had their shit played and put on CD uncountably many times. Still he's got to be breaking some records somewhere.
