-The Summer 2021 Event is underway. It is a small-scale Mediterranean vacation. The Extra Operation, "Operation Pedestal", has been implemented. There are 4 tags and 2 quests associated with E-3.
-New ships include the Japanese submarine tender Chougei (E-1 drop) and the Italian battleship Conte di Cavour (E-2 reward). The armored carrier Victorious is the E-3 reward.
-New equipment implemented is the 65mm/64 Single Rapid Fire Gun Mount Kai, the 305mm/46 Twin and Triple Gun Mounts, the 320mm/44 Twin and Triple Gun Mounts, and the SM.79 and SM.79 bis land-based bombers.
-Souya is available as a drop in E-1 for those who failed to get her.
-Kongou-Hiei Kai-IIC special attack can now trigger with Echelon and 2nd Cruising Formation.
-The July ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment is the Corsair Mk.II, Daihatsu (Panzer II/North Africa Spec), and the Prototype Jinpuu.
-UI Changes! The composition UI now allows to show tagged/untagged only or all ships. Tagged are orange, Untagged are Green, and All are gray.
-As of the Feb 28, 2020 maintenance, due to the ongoing DDoS attacks, measures have been taken that requires players from certain countries to use a Japanese IP address to connect to the Login servers. After getting to the start screen it's possible to disconnect from the VPN and continue playing without it. If you still encounter connection issues try clearing your cache and changing your time zone to JST. These countermeasures are temporary as of right now. EN EO now bypasses the block. Another possible workaround is using https://github.com/Tibowl/KCCacheProxy

Maybe because especially the Japanese wiki uses actual sources unlike you?
And those sources use actual IJN and naval shipyard documents as well as interviews with former staff for their aircraft quotes. For example one source called 日本の航空母艦パーフェクトガイド』109頁("A perfect guide to Japanese Aircraft carriers" pg 109) that quotes a Japanese document called 空母及搭載艦関係報告資料 puts Shinano's aircraft at 48(24 Reppu, 17 Ryuusei, 7 saiun).
You two are really dumb. No to mention Akagi who two reconstructions had a hangars that looked like this. Because there is only so much you do
to change the hull and Akagi had three hangars not just one. Yes on paper Akagi and Kaga had a lot of volume but there was a lot of space you couldn't use efficiently even if the Japs made all of their aircraft have folding wings. Also as you can see you can indeed load aircraft through the side. Don't forget the third hanger on Akagi, Kaga, and the second hangar on the Shoukakus could only carry limited size fighters(I am not sure if they could carry the A7M and the hangar height might have been too low for folding wings). Shinano only had one hangar and probably looked even shittier than the Akagi pic related situation. I will post the Essex class hangar blue prints for comparison.
Also Shinano's ventilation got in the way pretty bad too. Shinano was also nearly halfway complete as a battleship before conversion. This is far more than Akagi, Kaga and the Lexingtons.

It took Taihou and Cranes 2 hangars with combined space of 34000m³ to reach 80+ planes, meanwhile the world's largest CVE has a single 20900m³ hangar and due to how late she was converted trying to build a second hangar is gonna be both expensive and extremely time consuming. Your best bet to get more planes out of her would be to adapt the practice of deck parking and even then the end result is gonna be decidedly subpar when compared to Essex-class or even Implacables.

Boiler rooms&their intakes make building a new one below the original hangar either impossible or too expensive and time consuming to be practical, you could try to glue another hangar above the pre-existing one but from what I have gathered that apparently would had required sacrificing the armored flight deck which is kinda an important feature for your armored support carrier/bomb immune floating forward airfield.

The most optimistic realistic number that I've seen would put her maximum air group around 60 planes without deck park and even that would had required axing most of her machinery spaces meant to repair&maintain aircraft.

Moral of the story: don't convert battleships into carriers, and if some fucking reason have to do it do so while they are still extremely early into construction.

Cruiser type warships originally started to appear in 17th&18th century as affordable small to medium sized warships capable of operating for long periods of time on its own and used for duties as such commerce raiding&protection, independent scouting, and stationed at distant stations that didn't need full scale ship of the line. Of course to counter these some people built heavy/super-frigates such as USS Constitution which is something of a trend when it comes to cruisers; most of the time people will try to counter them by building bigger&more heavily armed cruisers.

Fast forward little bit; it is mid-19th century, people have figure out that you can armor your ships with iron and put steam engines aboard of them to make them capable of moving around without having to rely on sails or oars, around this time you have some attempts to build armored cruising warships but they all kinda sucked and the concept really didn't took off until Russian General-Admiral entered service which was armored&armed on scale of 2nd rate ironclad and was meant for (at least in theory, the tech wasn't quite there yet) to be used a commerce raider, which caused brits to build HMS Shannon and era of armored cruisers started with these 2 classes of ship. Around same time advances in shell technology make having unarmored warships for cruising role obsolete and while powerful armored cruisers are just too expensive to be really used for the role of small cruising type warships, this leads to Armstrong building Esmeralda for Chiliean navy; a cruiser that didn't have belt armor just a slopped deck to protect it vitals, people also kinda liked this concept and thus shitload of protected cruisers were built during last couple decades 19th and first decade 20th century.

Anyway it is 20th century now, cruisers are generally split to 2 categories: big armored cruisers with 8 to 10 inch guns which kinda function as 2nd rate battleships (and used with great success at that role by Japanese during the Battle of Tsushima) with some commence raiding capabilities and smaller protected cruisers. However a certain mad lad in Britain is about to fuck things up; enter the 1st Sea Lord John "Jackie" Fisher, outside of his little battleship called Dreadnought that would render every other battleship obsolete Jackie boy also wanted to mess around armored cruisers and thus decided to up their speed and arm them with bigger guns: this led to creation of Invincible-class of dreadnought cruiser or battlecruiser, when compared to Minotaurs, the last class of British armored cruisers, Invincibles were 2 knots faster, featured significantly heavier main battery of 8 12" guns compared to Minotaurs' 4 9.2" guns, and displaced only 3000 tons more mostly because they were armored on same scale as minotaurs. This move basically forced every one else (noticeable exception being USN due to congress having bad cruiser allergy during this time period) to abandon armored cruiser concept and start building their own battlecruisers. Japanese ones shared more or less same balance of speed&armor&firepower as the British ones (i.e. high speed, having 1 or 2 turrets less than battleships, and mediocre armor) meanwhile the German ones tended to be slower to but put more emphasis on survivability&armor. Around same time protected cruisers also become obsolete as the advancements in propulsion tech have finally made it possible to mount both armored belt&engines suitable for high speeds at relatively small hull sizes which led to protected cruisers being replaced by light cruisers which took over their roles of scouting, commerce warfare, and escort duties.

So by WW2 you have 6 types of cruisers around: old WW1 battlecruisers kept around (Kongous, Renowns, Hood, Yavuz), attempts to up-gun heavy cruisers with bigger guns (Deutchlands and Alaskas), heavy cruisers (Takaos, Baltimores, etc.), heavy light cruisers (Clevelands, Mogamis before IJN did their whole gun switching thing), light cruisers (Leanders), and destroyer leader cruisers/very light light cruisers (basically all Japanese light cruisers). These ships are used during as war as destroyer leaders, escort ships for larger ships in battles, convoy escorts, raiders, bombardment vessels, etc.

By the end of the war battlecruisers&up-gunned heavy cruisers are obsolete as fast battleships like Iowas, Vanguard, and Richelieus can do whatever they can do just as well while also being capable of going toe to toe with enemy battleships, surface commerce raiding is obsolete as concept as well so that renders most of the light cruisers obsolete too. Add-in guided missiles and destroyer size bloat (remember, even during WW2 destroyers still were too small to handle long term operations on their own) and we reach the modern day in which cruisers have more or less died off and whatever remaining roles they had (i.e. independent operations that don't require a capital ship, and escort duty) are nowadays handled by ships classified as destroyers (even if said ships tend to be same size as a WW2-era cruisers).

In case anyone need some tips for E1 and early E2

E1p1 use benchwarmers IJN at least 2 nukers for node F pref Satsuki, Fumizuki or Tatsuta. Might need 1 or 2 high damage but low luck DD without daihatsu gimmick like Yuugumo or Kagerou to kill CA hime.

E1p2 and p3 same as above use IJN and sack 3 weakest euro pref Z1, Z3, all ABDA members Houston included and Riche.
You need 2 or 3 nukers for gimmick lock 2 Asashio or Kinu here.
You need air power to trigger spotting at boss but i want to keep Italian CA and IJN CAV so i used Riche with bomber here.

E2p1 standard TP drain keep euro use full IJN ships. Use daihatsu DD and keep tank DD. Pray you avoid the strongest boss formation.

E2p2 and p3 and later reusable for E3p2. Maybe wait for friends and decide which euro to lock based on friend comp.
