Seems like a horrid idea. There's already enough problems with transliteration, and shit like this stands to make sections of the net utterly inaccessible. Not to mention a coding nightmare.

Well google sees a big profit in this and said that it's interested in making the web easier to surf for it's non latin reading customers.

I like the idea. In Europe you can register domain names with accented characters, but this really doesn't mean anything. Those sites are accessible with their english abc equivalent, so practically they own 2 domain names.
I can understand why Google sees profit in this.
