It's fun when you first generate a world and you're just dropped in and have to make a shelter and tools and stuff. Then you start digging and exploring caves, looking for materials and fighting off monsters. Once you have something like a secured civilization on your hands, the only thing left to do is make elaborate machines or traps or giant pixel art just for shits and giggles. It's better to just generate a new world and see what kind of new situations you find yourself in, and that way, you can keep enjoying the game. However, you eventually figure out something like a meta and then the game has literally fucking nothing left to offer you unless you're autistic and just like following procedures.
So, it's a cute game, if you're more of the exploration/customization type of gamer then it's definitely a good game, but for most people it's boring after like an hour or two.
