I know I'm going to be met with a massive shitstorm here, but are Tsukihime and FSN available for OSX in english?

>> No.3624985

whats osx?

is it windows, cause they work on that. I think you can make them work on mac too.

>> No.3624986

Nope, you'll have to use boot camp or etc.

>> No.3624983

Tsukihime, yes. You can play any VN that runs under ONScripter in OS X and Linux.

FSN, no.

>> No.3624992

>>3624983
Oh, guess Tsukihime is yes then.

I though FSN used ONScripter too?

I know that both run perfectly well under WINE, but I do not know if WINE is available on OSX.

>> No.3625012

>>3624983
How exactly do I apply the english patch then? There's only .exes on mirrormoon.

>> No.3625020

>>3625012
Anon never really said anything about playing it in English yet, just that in runs on OSX

>> No.3625022

You have to get winelocale or something for Wine for FSN to work, and also rename/remove the videos since it won't be to play them. Even then, don't know how well it'll work.

>> No.3625030

>>3625008
FSN runs somewhat slow under Wine. At least it did, the last time I tried (I used Crossover, but same thing).

>>3625012
You need to use Wine or a Windows computer to apply the English patch, then copy the Tsukihime directory over and put ONScripter.app (available from the ONScripter-En site) inside it.

Or you can just download a prepatched version:

Here's the links I've found to get it to work:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7730&iTestingId=22185
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=11232&iTestingId=22494

>> No.3625032

Fuck it. Too much effort. I'll just use my shitty windows laptop to play it instead.

There's all this stuff about using ONscripter and applying source code here http://mirrormoon.org/news/2007-01-15-tsukihime_english_for_linux_and_osx

But that's really above my head. So I'll just use it on my ancient laptop.

Boot camp etc.

Wait... is that tsukihime prepatched in english for a mac?

Or you can just download the file I linked here >>3625030, problem solved.

>> No.3625050

Just chiming in to say that Wine doesn't work for shit on OSX because of some shitty non-standard code in X-11.

Sage for OP giving up, apparently.

>> No.3625056

Now all I need to do is get Crossover working for fucking Snow Leopard.

>> No.3625057

>>3625045
Yes.

>>3625050
It has something to do with linking and OpenGL libraries that Apple hasn't bothered to fix yet. Crossover works, though.

>> No.3625059

>>3625056
You don't need Crossover for Tsukihime, though. Just FSN, but you're better off playing it on a Windows laptop, even if it's an old crappy one.

>> No.3625064

Oh, so I don't need crossover to run >>3625030 on a mac? Excellent

What the hell, did you have that readily available already or did you package that up really fast for OP?

>> No.3625093

FSN will work under Crossover, actually, but not very well.

>> No.3625095

>>3625076
I already had it, I zipped it and had it uploaded some time ago. (It was for someone who only ever talks to me when she can't figure out how to get something to work under OS X, actually.)

This accounts for 99% of my posts on /g/ lol

Thanks so much anyway.
