Drawfags out there, I need practice on POV, particularly with human figures.Would Im@s be a good source of POV references of various poses?

I'd recommend this instead. You can actually rotate the poses to get the specific angle you want, too.

But, to be totally honest, I have worked from Idolmaster poses before. It's just that you should probably get a better sense of what you're doing first, since their bodies are very stylized and unrealistic. It's not a good learning point.

Point of view?

Bookmarked, thanks.

Although, the style isn't a huge issue. I just need to get my perspective right, like what a foot looks like when placed at such and such position when viewed and such and such angle.

Break it down into simple shapes then add in the details - "humanize" it.

I'm not new at drawing, just, well, having issues with original human creation, mainly. I got down basics such as that.

The thing is, for example in a drawing I'm working on, every way I draw the foot looks wrong. I can't place why it looks wrong, either.

Current project, Sakuya.

Not really too far into it, and not the most recent image (I've messed around with the foot further, among other things).

I also have a problem with anime eyes and hair. But that's a different topic of discussion. Unless, of course, you're willing to help with that as well.

On a side note, I haven't done much art digitally (this is my second project using a Tablet, first I never even completed). Using Photoshop CS3.

Most recent picture. Not much difference, though, honestly.

For me, just continually sketching images of people, from stick figure with right proportions to Chibi, helped. I used to be absolutely horrid at people. Not much better, but nonetheless, it's better.

I've been using both really.

Both. Because even super deformed animu people still have some basic human proportions.

i.e. Arms don't reach down farther than the knee.

Just as a side note, posemaniacs is a really good resource for practicing perspective/pov shots, but just as important when out there doing them on your own is thinking deeply about how your subject looks from your particular angle. How parts of the body are foreshortened, what parts of the body are obscured by others, and so on.
I'm only a beginner-tier artist myself, but I've found that I've made as much progress thinking about perspective as I have from actually practicing it.

What's the best way to learn how to draw clothing? I think I've got the idea of bodies down, but you have to draw clothing over it, and I'm not sure if I've got it yet.

Correct looking feet (or the whole body as a matter of fact) are largely defined by shadows.

Stop outlining everything and concentrate on definition of form.

What did I tell you about developing a style after you know what you're doing?
This is what people do, they don't learn the basics and they blame the way their piece looks on the idea that it's "stylized" or "exaggerated", but it's really just a complete lack of understanding.
Simply put, you don't know how to exaggerate until you know how to work with the original form.
If you're going to improve, please take criticism seriously instead of making excuses for yourself.

>>3617013
Good man.

> Ignored the fact that I took the rest of the criticism well.

Anyways, I never said I wasn't going to work on the form. More likely than not, I'll probably put this on hold as I do work on said things. But when I come back to it, I'm still probably going to leave the waist as is. That was intended.

>> No.3617052

>>3617030
Well, no, not really.
You didn't take offense or anything, but you only considered some points and blamed the rest on the idea that it was "exaggerated".

Oh, but you know, it wouldn't be hard to work on the waist. won't really show anyway. You can add the curve and it will still have the effect you want it to when you erase it for the dress, probably. Just, the way the outline of the waist functions with the legs at the moment makes them look like spaghetti. Zun would approve, but I think you can definitely make some more definite edges.

They are just using a model from Poser on that site.

OP, it's better to just download Poser 7 for references.
