Understandable.
Annoying though, since he is the lead of the game.

Pretty much.

Leveling was also broken, leveling up actually made the game harder. And you pretty much had to keep killing monsters to avoid getting your SeeD rank down, so you had to be careful with that as well.

Terrible game mechanics, but at least Triple Triad was fun.

It made random encounters slightly less easy at the expense of making bosses a joke.

I always overlevel on accident in FF8 and all bosses end up being complete pushovers, to the point where I can just stand there and draw magic from them until I'm at 100. It's pathetic.

Um, what?

Bosses get more of a buff than anything else.

I dare you to fight Omega Weapon at level 100 compared to level 40. He's about 6000% more difficult, since you don't get many buffs and his speed skyrockets.

To this day I can´t get past disc 1, There´s something about 8´s ambience that makes me feel bored and depressed. Reading that the card game is sort of "important" doesn´t help since I don´t like it.

This coming from someone who only likes 9 and tactics. Who knows, maybe if i play the other discs I might come to like it, but having "tried" the 1st one 4 times already I think I´ll pass.

>> No.3600427

>>3600403

There's 3 important cards in the game, and only 1 needs you to actively play to get it.

That one is Gilgamesh, who refines into 10 Holy Wars, aka 10 Gamebreaker Primes. You win it from the King of Hearts of the card club.
The other is Laguna, which refines into 100 Heroes, aka 100 Gamebreakers. (It actually takes skill to get it since the Lunar Base has FUCKED UP RULES, but it doesn't require a chain of games like Gilgamesh.)
The last is Bahamut, which refines into 100 Megalixirs, which is self-explanatory. You win it in a battle.

>> No.3600443

I gave the fuck up after getting trapped in some.. area where Rinoa was held captive by Seifer or whoever, and was manipulating her. You had to defeat some boss which I couldn't get past, and I couldn't grind because of the particular area. This was pretty late into the game.

Massive disappointment overall though, I expected something amazing. I think everyone did, since most people's first RPG was FF7. I played FF7 as my first RPG to actually beat, but only because it had a guide. God, so much sidetracking and shit unrelated to the story. Oh I know, let's go to some random city and pick up some random chick who will fill the sixth slot of our party and we'll never use.

I wish they would make a current-gen Saga game. Saga Frontier 2 was the shit. Maybe I'll check out the Saga 2 DS game.. 言葉の壁 might be a problem though.

>> No.3600603
