While not really a "girl band" I also really like this female-fronted shoegaze band called Yuragi. The guitarist/singer is called Miraco and they are top-tier shoegaze imo.

I also like Sayaka Yamamoto. She was in some 48 group as an idol but then went on to do the singer/songwriter thing. She makes absolutely atrocious pop-rock that I would never listen to in a million years but she is stunningly beautiful so I follow her anyway.

I honestly don't know shit about her. I saw a couple of gravure pics on r/jpopfap or something like that a couple of years ago and was smitten so I looked her up. She seems pretty talented and she's hot af but her music is just so terrible. I just scroll through her instagram every once in a while. She seems to be doing a bit more of an alt look recently so maybe her new music reflects that but I don't particularly care to find out.

That's pretty good. I don't usually like metalcore but I like that. There is enough punk in there to keep me entertained. I bet they put on a good live show. I will check out some more.

trips. I love that japanese shoegaze is getting some recognition. have you ever been to Nippon? I want to go there when a bunch of concerts are taking place. Lemon's Chair (a lesser known hallmark jp gaze band) use to put on a shoegaze festival and a lot of other bands would play at it. Would be sick if it happened again, I'd defs try and get tickets. My dead gf, and Cattle have a show today actually. so sad I'm here in canada

Yeah the Japanese really like shoegaze for some reason. There are quite a few really good bands. A couple others I like are For Tracy Hyde and Seventeen Years Old And Berlin Wall. They were both spotify recommendations since I listen to yuragi so often but they are in the same female-fronted shoegaze genre.

I've never been to Japan but I'd like to go sometime for sure. I mostly want to go snowboarding in Hokkaido. If I went all the way there I'm sure I would spend at least a week or so checking out stuff in Tokyo and go see some shows but I wouldn't plan my whole trip around it. I prefer to solo-travel and just do whatever without having some rigid itinerary to stick to. I would plan the trip around trying to get a week of some good powder and then fill in the rest with partying and punk rock. I won't be able to save enough money to do it right for a couple years anyway but it is #1 on my destination wishlist.
