MuvLuv Alt, without a doubt.

SEACATS has a very good ost. Saya's theme is god tier. Fate/stay is pleasant, but doesn't stand out much. Tsukihime had to be turned off for me to finish it. Wanko was bland OMGWTFOTL was OMGWTFOTL.

The only song in Wanko that was good was "The delight of being filled."

Personal favourite is Saya, but I've heard great things about MuvLuv Alt although I've never played it.

Also, some songs in tsukihime are good. Ok, one song. Whichever one it is that plays when Shiki is showing Roa what it means to kill something.

I'm still very much a novice, but this has definitely been the best I've heard so far. The tracks are not only great on their own, but are also incredibly effective in the context of the game. I still get tears in my eyes when listening to 冥夜.

>> No.3595524

>>3595509
People overrate Emiya.
While fitting, it's like a constant buil-up techno beat that goes nowhere.
While the Tracks are fitting, they are relatively simple and do not stand out that much.

Excluding Church in the Hill and All Evils in the World.

MuvLuv , Angelos Armas, Eve Burst Error, these really stand out.

I recently listened all of Jingai Makyou's OST. Awesome stuff, but I wouldn't call it the best.

You're right, I should have mentioned there are a few ones that stand out. Fate isn't bad, far from it, but it's one of those OSTs that is fanatic in context but most songs don't stand out on their own.

Tsukihime has like one generic happy music track and I simply couldn't deal with how often I had to listen to it. Half of my excitement over the theoretical remake is that there will finally be awesome music for it.

Fair enough, the original Emiya is only ok, but remixes make it awesome.

I really can't possibly pick one, there are just too many great OSTs. Out of what I've read though, those that stand out a lot are,

Umineko, anything by Jun Maeda, Saya no Uta, Angelos Armas, Sharin no Kuni, G-Senjou no Maou.

Alternative, and some of the songs from Extra are also amazing. Age apparently thought the same thing, as they used em in Alternative quite a bit.

>> No.3596438

Definetelu Umineko and Clannad (just too different styles taht can't even be compared) Saya no uta had very few songs, normal they are good. Umineko has more than 100 and most are good (the weakest are on ep1 soundtrack any way and can also pull good vocals even if a few) and Clannad is just too pleasant and funny and quite sad, there are just two or three I don't like, it's really good. FSN sucked, every song was repetitive and many were remixed, I didn't need 3 instrumental versions of the OP thx. Tsukihime's horrible, where like 7 songs repeated till nausea.

>> No.3596454

>>3596438

I agree on Tsukihime, the remake better have a new OST.

However in kagetsu, for some reason I LOVED the piano song that played whenever it did flashbacks of Len's past.

This, while Alternative is obviously awesome, Extra is almost never mentioned even though it has a few amazing tracks. Ambush is just bad ass, 忍び寄る不安 is also god-tier. And then 戦慄 is more of a personal taste, I think it's a good "scary" type of song. Something tells me not too many other people like that song though.

>> No.3596704

I never see Baldr sky mentioned in these threads, is it really not all that great?

Just to name a few tracks I like:
Advance though the stub / Original Hive - gives that creepy vibe that is so fitting for the occasion.
Platoon, advance! - Just a military march, but I like it.
Briefing - Makes the mission feel even more important.
Meiya - MANLY TEARS.

Right, for example Clannad has a good amount and almost evry was good. And a bit extreme, from Umieko's 100+ at least 80 are good, the rest are just 'fitting' for atmosphere. BUt haveing less than ten and not have all good, FAIL

Original Hive/オリジナルハイヴ is bad ass I love that song, it's a shame it is barely used(for obvious reasons).

War preparation/臨戦態勢 is my favorite Briefing/Military song.

Also for Umineko, I've not watched the anime or kept up on any of the new ost's. How are those "blue box and red box" ost's? Are they any different from the VN? Should I be acquiring themMy favorite songs are marionette and the siesta song, so really I wanna know if they have different versions of these
