I guess I should have kept those generics instead of firing them when the Shimazu brothers wouldn't take them. Didn't do too badly for not knowing what the fuck I was doing with a handful of units that aren't even levelled. I would have easily had him if he didn't kill off Sill the moment she switched in.

I know that, but I had saved at the end of my turn and couldn't access the event to raise them to trust. I just sacrificed Kanami since I rarely used her anyway and cleared her on my first playthrough.

As for the OP I picked Zeth on my first playthrough for Uruza, I decided to go for Leazas this time though for some reason, probably because I forgot which was which and hadn't played in the game since one of the first translation patches.

He can die? I just played through it without having a clue what I was doing and that was the ending I got. Sounn marries Ran and they live happy ever after while Sill and Rance return to the continent. I was expecting Ran to fall for Rance eventually since she slowly built up to trust in my game so I was a little disappointed in the ending.

Well after getting her to love I can say I prefer tsundere Ran end over Ran marrying Sounn. Oh well, time for a new game. 26 points to use, only got the Houjou bonus so far. Was thinking of grabbing Elina, the action fan and some items like Rance's Love, Popularity Staff, Pain Point Helm etc. I'm not sure if I should just continue to play through the routes normally like I am now or farm up some points doing a monkey route or whatever. What would be best?

Ran route is notoriously good for points because it's so easy and you don't need to conquer much at all, or do a single dungeon.
There is some debate about the Monkey route. You have to conquer a whole lot more, including some fairly hard encounters (the youkai castle with your opponents having 3500 troops each if you didn't take the Dokuganryuu bonus), but at the same time you get a lot of beginning-of-turn events to do your purple events for "free", comparatively to the Ran route where a lot of turns are used up on storyline events. You also don't need to do any dungeons.

What are the prerequisites of the other family bonuses? I know the Mouri one is to fight with the sisters all together and the Takeda one is something about surviving the blitz but otherwise I'm clueless. I'd like to get those out of the way first so I was thinking of doing the monkey route since it lacks the story events which are pushing you forward.

Also another potentially silly question but how does one obtain Shizuka? The wiki says she comes with Maria but I never got her when I was doing the Ran route, all I got was Kasumi.
