Tewi is the best out of the two, good for breaking barriers of enemies weak to star and has a good chunk of defensive debuffs on top of anomalies. Her LW is the star of the show, inflicting 3 yang def down on all enemies and her boosted LW also has a chance to debuff the enemy further. On the other hand, Rei'sen is only good for buffing. She gives lots of yang atk and yin atk, but that's it. She's useless beyond that.

Tewi only applies barrier abnormalities. You'll need another character that actually breaks them, ie: Medicine for poison, etc. What she's really good for is her debuffs to defense in addition to the barrier statuses. Think of her as a damage multiplier. However, her only downside is that she can only apply those debuffs to one target.

You're going to have to protect Lily while she barrier breaks then. It'll take her 6 turns to do the job (5 focus shots, 1Power Spell 1). Equip her with barrier restoration cards. Have two of your MLB characters use their LW to take out the fairies, stall until barriers break, then switch two more MLB units for their LW. It might work.

Brutal I have the same issue. Tried rolling on daily for med and no luck. I have been able to kill Marissa and get fairies down to under 30k with only youmu MLB. I use lily + patchy since patchy focus I think on 1 charge has wood. Gives you just barely enough turns to use barriers to break Marissa. Then I have cirno break the one fairy and swap out to youmu. Unfortunately with no other mlb's the fairies defenses are still too high after all those buffs so you end up losing. Thinking maybe with suika/remi that might do it

You need to break her barriers, no way around it. If you have Lily, use her. Patchouli also has wood available at 1 boost, but it's unreliable. Suika has one at 3 boost on her normal shot, but that means you're in for a long fight. Same for Daiyousei, except she has two.
If you have Reisen and Nitori, you can inflict 4 layers of stun on her, then break those barriers with Reisen's spell card at full boost. That's if you're really desperate, though.

Not an expert, but here are a few options I see:
-Sanae so you have a healer for a Yukari-Medicine-Sanae stall team for the tower
-Ran so she can farm too if Youmu gets tired
-Reimu, Remilia, Tewi, good units.
I'm planning on having the opposite policy with my 5-stars since attackers are used for farming so I will not max-awaken them for SP-efficiency. If you are drowning in SP I guess it's fine.

There is zero content at the moment that requires a 5* unit. My highest is Yuyuko at 2 and she can solo everything but Lunatic Redrisa.
Lily White is good for Lunatic RED farming, Ran is a good all-purpose unit and Reimu is allegedly good for the upcoming tower. Other than that, follow your heart.

Medicine is useful. Patchouli is also very versatile since she has a lot of different options and afaik the fastest last word (people say it's actually Toyohime but I have both and I'm preeeetty sure Patchouli's is sliiiiiightly faster; I use her to solo dailies). I don't know how other people do things but I easily 5 star whoever I please at this point. Sell away your duplicate characters, paper dolls are fucking NOTHING to obtain. After regular and non serious play in jp for a year, here's my paper doll collection while blue tags are very hard to gather. I've max LB'd several characters too it's not like I'm deliberately stockpiling these fucking things. Dupe characters give a fair amount of blue tokens and so using them to limit break characters instead of selling them is basically a complete waste (this does not apply to the super rares like Red Marisa, because their paper dolls are rarely given out/expensive and only purchasable by insane people; use their dupes to LB them if you actually get some)

That said I would still say only five star who you really find useful.

I sell all dupes after fully limit breaking cards and upgrade when I have too much money and can't complete the "get money" daily quest/I've already unlocked character skills. Global players are probably looking for stall teams since Reimu, Sanae, and Medicine were in from the start. Ran and Youmu were also available in the general pool from the start.

The best characters they have so far that aren't those are Yuyuko (early fes banner so doubtful people could spark her), Suika (fes banner right before Red Marisa), and Red Marisa (who they can't MLB unless they got supremely lucky or are gigantic whales)

I think this is the "first gacha" for a lot of people. You have a lot of people rolling for shit without being able to spark it, or thinking you need every broken character on their first banner to do the content. I don't think people realize you're not supposed to clear Tower for a while. It comes back.

So far there's no english guide of reincarnation. Reincarnation grants extra stats, only that so it mostly benefits attackers and characters capable of nuking with their base stats. Characters like Sanae and Patchouli don't benefit much from their reincarnation, though i haven't seen Alice's performance with it so far.
For L2D, the quality may vary. I've seen only both Reimu and Marisa's L2D, and really Marisa is better out of the two. It's a nice thing but not outstanding.
Using a ring does give a mini story, and it gives you the wedding skin. Tokens are also used for reincarnation, you need 1000 of the specific character you want to reincarnate, and the character has to be completely maxed out before you upgrade with the tokens. It resets the character back to lv1, and incense wood upgrades get reset too.

MLBing Marisa is mostly to give her more stats. For full auto, it's kinda bad since she will always use LW on 3rd wave/1st wave if one only, but it can be worked around and mostly not an issu. Also her stats and buffs are skewed towards yang, while her LW and SC2 are yin heavy/only respectively. Equipping yin cards is a must for her if you want to make the most out of her LW. Overwhelming Firepower and Boo! works, but you can also use Eating Contest for extra body bullet dmg.

Not directly nor immediately. The stat loss can only occur when morale bottoms out AND you continue to have your friend fight despite the warning window. This reduces your friend's affection (heart) level. As the green, orange, and pink hearts each provide a stat bonus, lowering your affection past these thresholds will also prevent the bonus from being applied.

IIRC each heart (green, orange, pink; blue & purple have no bonus associated with them) is worth 3% of the character's final stats. Altogether affection is a total of +9% of the character's final stats when at pink.

I felt it was worth clarifying because you said morale instead of affection. Your main point is correct: working your friends past exhaustion will quickly drop their affection and the loss of affection bonuses may make autofarming inefficient depending on if that additional 9% of stats helps.
