That's exactly what I'm thinking, those ebay fumos are like 200 bucks?? what the hack?? If the "official" ones are only ~50 bucks with forwarding/proxy services included, how they managed to sell those with that kind of markup on ebay?

Plus, it's the first time for me to realized there are some kind of "official" fumos (or "pirate" fumos) out there. I was thinking that fumos are essentially some kind of fanfiction that everyone can make as long as they *look like* a fumo. And since touhou is open for such commercial derivative works, anyone can make a fumo. Those fluffy toys won't cost like, more than 5 USD to make in those sweatshops in china. Crazy markup.

Also an anon there just shared a twitter link with a bunch of fumos. That's from a comicon in China so I assume there would be plenty of "pirated" ones. Though, again, I don't think there should be "official" touhou merches in any sense and cheap alternatives is okay. They are just some literal toy dolls, I'm not going to pay 50 bucks (or 200 bucks, on ebay) for them. I would rather spend that kind of money on ZUN's official releases or other doujins.

price ranges are completely different depending on who you commission from so finding the overall average doesn't make sense
rumia is pretty simple and a good introduction to making customs if you're willing to make her yourself though
