I have recently fallen in love with Touhou music.
What are the essential must-have albums?

>> No.3540337

Entry level: dBu, TAMusic

Don't really know since I rarely listen to Touhou remixes.

>> No.3540343

drizzly train is exceptional.

>> No.3540349

Everything in this collection:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BAvLYgq5m0

Also, I'm a fan of =NeutraL='s stuff, particularly the ones done by nazz-can and DRUGON.

>> No.3540347

Pianoforte are all that's required.

>> No.3540352

Why don't you just download albums that contain the songs you've recently fallen in love with first and work from there?
Everyone has their own different taste in music, and there's so much different stuff out there it's impossible to call one particular album, or even one particular group for that matter, must-have.

P.S. Demetori's latest album is the best touhou arrange album out there.

Try SJV-SC - DIVIT album. There are only 3 jazzy tracks on that album, but they're worth getting the whole album.

It really depends on the circle. IOSYS got ARM who sometimes does hardcore / j-core with vocals. Although, if you want to put it all into one bag then personally I'd qualify most of the ones you mentioned as j-pop.

OdiakeS is a really talented saxophonist. It's a shame that he didn't play on that instrument ever since "DIVIT" album.
Anyway, if you like jazz you should check Azure & Sands and some of the individual arrangements from various circles. like C-CLAYS for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhxgI7NdcMg

I've learned that you should never ignore any circle, no matter what genre they represent. I can't imagine how many times I was surprised to find something that I truly enjoyed that came out from a group that I wasn't even interested in.
