less than 5000 lines left.

TNA really has been going fast as of late, similar to Ixrec's speed with SnI.

Seeing that he is planning on doing Himawari next (at least if it doesn't disappoint him), that is a really good thing.

9/30 update
KB Total: 2488/3326 (74.80%)
Lines Total: 31180/39723 (78.49%
10/12 update
KB Total: 2823/3326 (84.87%)
Lines Total: 35133/39723 (88.44%)

Difference-
335KB (26KB average per day for the last 13 days)
Lines - 3953 lines (304 lines average per day for the last 13 days)

Ixrec given averages since he started (12.66 days ago)

Average KB completed each day since start: 23.19 KB (2.05%)
Average lines completed each day since start: 362.36 lines (2.03%)

So The n00b avenger has done more KB a day on average while Ixrec has done more lines, however they are fairly close to each other in speed.

Characters:
Shirogane Takeru: Main character. A bit more mature.
Kagami Sumika: Cheerful, clutz. Childhood friend.
Mitsurugi Meiya: Noble girl. Very determined
Sakaki Chizuru: Responsible, strict girl. Glasses.
Ayamine Kei: Quiet random type.
Tamase Miki: Short loli. Innocent, puppy-like.
Yoroi Mikoto: Random cheerful girl. Boy-ish
Kouzuki Yuuko: Smart, mature, calculating.

Why can't Japan make a serious war game with some real soldiers, not a mix of Starship Troopers with a High School fieldtrip?

You haven't played it yet have you? Think Takumi from chaos;head

People will disagree with me but fucking I'll stick to it, Takeru enraged me time after time again. The Marimo scene is his fault too.

Somebody tell me what to expect in this, the vndb summary was confusing as hell.

And the genre listing didn't help at all either. Although I loved that "Genius protagonist" part since that's extremely rare in VN's.

any words of what Witch Hunt has for average?

>> No.3538750

Well, who cares about that silly transfag if he manages to destroy everything by translating some game nobody wants instead of doing some real deal translations.

tina, ixwreck, wanko~nigger: Not so good.

>> No.3538962

Well we know Witch Hunt has taken about a month and a half to get 50% translation on a game with only 650KB of text.

Ixrec is currently on schedule to complete a game with over a 1000KB of text within less than 2 months.

I don't think Witch Hunt measures up here

>> No.3539181

>>3538962
Yeah but they have issues with colred text and so on+the screenshots from past games they have to translate+the whole screens from Natsuhi's trial, it's far more difficult than this kind of things

>> No.3539202

Far more difficult? Try slightly more difficult. The text during Natsuhi's scene is like, 12 lines. Takes like 15 minutes at max. Sure there's image editing and such but that shouldn't be left to the translator.

I can see stuff like red text having to be payed special attention to and all but it's not something that's going to account for taking 2-3 times longer as long.

>> No.3539203

longer as long. Awesome

>> No.3539514

>>3539202
The word choice in Umineko, especially red text (which episode five has the most of so far), has to be pretty precise. Umineko is a mystery, and mistranslations could be a serious problem in interpreting what's happening. With most VNs, you screw up a line? No fucking big deal! None of your readers are going to catch it and there's no chance it's going to be important even if they do. With Umineko, when/if all this red text gets explained, if Witch Hunt got shit wrong, it'll be a nightmare.

>> No.3539527

>>3539514
Umineko is a mockery of a mystery that gets reduced to wrongly-applied theories and guesses that allow the author to make up shit as he goes along and barely focusing on what is the mystery.
It's commendable they do a proper work, but you cannot draw any real conclusion till he drops reveals after many fake or irrelevant ones of course.

>> No.3539551

>>3539527
Ryukishi already said Umineko was solvable by episode 4, I don't really see how he can just make up shit if that's true.

>> No.3539568

>>3539551
You just build up a solution from SOME of the shit you have mentioned by then, among 1 mil other info, statements etc.

>> No.3539577

>>3539568
Point still stands. Actually in that case it's even more important that you have an extremely accurate translation, because there's no way to predict what's important and what isn't AT ALL.

>> No.3539582

You make it sound like other groups aren't already trying to be accurate.

Just because you HAVE to be accurate doesn't change what you're doing. And again, anyone who thinks something like that drags out the process to 2-3 times longer is a retard.

>> No.3539597

>>3539577
The nature, writing and presentation make predicting far more tiring than it should.
There is a limit to how many different directions theories should go.
It's not really a mystery, as much as a story of conflicts that includes one.
I'd rather wait for his explanation, rather than gathering a 1000 clues of questionable value in-between irrelevant stories /info and then build as many theories.
The fortitude of the guys in the theory threads is astounding, but they overestimate the author's presentation and how much of a chance he truly gives.

A proper translation should be done nonetheless of course, whenever possible/

>> No.3539619

>>3539514
You know, I haven't read Umineko, but I'm going to bet my ass that on average its language isn't anywhere near Liarsoft in terms of translation difficulty. What you've said is true about most VNs, but not Liarsoft.
