1.) I don't know patchy well enough, bit my guess would depend on how much she values human life. In both cases, I'd imagine gentle at first so she can learn as much as she can without damaging the specimen. Then, if she doesn't value human life, I could see her getting a little more rough in order to find out more. And if she does, maybe trying to find a way to return them to normal size.
