Touhou has much more than two unique events a year, mostly in the Tokyo area, though.

This is just the biggest in Kansai, 1,000 spaces against Reitaisai's 3,000. But a lot of quality circles show up that don't show up at the Tokyo events.
I'd rank the major events like this:

Comiket = Reitaisai > Kouroumu > (I think there's another Tokyo event here) > smaller regional events (often one-shot, 100-500 space range, which still translates to well over 5,000 participants each).

If you look at the big corporate sites you'll find plenty of your flash and gradient-transparency glossy stuff; they're catching on.

Generally speaking, I rather like the simple sites though. No wasted resources, loads fast, easy to see on portable devices, saves bandwidth and cpu cycles, there's a lot to say for spartan web design.

Oh wow, I wasn't aware there was another large event and so soon after the last Comiket. I would prefer they schedule more events between Reitaisai and the summer Comiket since there is such a long time in between. But hey, I'm not complaining. And just look at the participating circles; can't wait for the new albums with the demos out already.

It's true I am a little worried that ZUN will accelerate Touhou's death by introducing too many characters, where it becomes impossible to keep track of them, their personalities, and fan works become impossible.

1.ZUN sells out

2.He quits making touhou games

I doubt either will happen (any time soon). Introducing too many characters is a problem. We hardly get enough time to enjoy one character before he's churning out another 4-5 of them.

I appreciate ZUN's creativity but he needs to slow down.

Back in the days I used to dislike Alstro's new work for the same reason. But hey, how many instrumental albums did he release before he started working with vocalists? He covered almost every tune from Touhou, including unused tracks from games such as Mystic Square. If he wants to take a different approach now then it's fine by me as long as the stuff he puts out is still enjoyable.

I really, really, really hope Shibayan keeps doing stuff in this style. Goddamn, it was like an orgy in my ears.

Alstroemeria and ALiCE are definitely getting a little stale, I haven't stopped playing an album half way through my first play through in a while. I also wish Alstro would start laying off the vocals, they felt particularly bad this time around. It's not like he hasn't chosen good vocalists before - Dolls being a pretty good example.

I did enjoy ALiCE's album, but it's probably not going to be something I'm going to go back and listen to on a semi-regular basis though.

VIBRATION OF THE WOMB WHERE, ETC. The sample sounded like it could be a potential winner.

It is not that I hate vocals. I mean I used to be the biggest fan of stuff like Under17 and Mosaic.wav.

But then when IOSYS keep churning out the usual high pitch sounding song, it just get staled.
I wish they did more songs like Border of Death, Phantasmagoria mystical expectation, Fragrance of Oriental Sunflower and stuff like that.
