Why are japanese cities so depressing?

Too many towers.

Too many peoples.

I actually find the sight and feel of a dark city filled with tall buildings such as this strangely nostalgic in a warm way, even though I've never lived in them. It makes me feel strangely happy and warm.

Gloomy days in LA are more peaceful. Well, in my opinion anyway.

It seems like the traffic is bearable as opposed to the sunny days when everyone cuts everyone else off.
It's why I hate driving when the sun's out.

I agree with this. Besides the eerie sky in that picture, I felt very at peace.

But I'm the type of guy that takes no greater pleasure in just lighting a cigarette under the porch when a cold front comes in, it's pouring balls, and the sky is a kind of grey like it's already night.
