So, I'm trying to play Saya no Uta. Heard it's a pretty nifty game. However, every time I go to run it in AppLocale, it causes some kinda weird bugs.

It skips the little pre-game option sequence where you can choose how the game handles the guro-scenes (don't really care that much), and it sometimes doesn't draw the characters when it's supposed to, making you talk to an empty background sometimes (that one kinda bugs me).

And of, course, if I don't use AppLocale the game's text just looks fugly.

Anyone else run into this bug? Any way around it? Am I just doing it wrong?

Switch to Japanese locale.

Yeah, this. If you're going to be reading more VNs, it saves hassle. It doesn't affect anything else either.

Well, yeah I did. The text displays fine.
It's just bugging some other things for some reason.

Well, yes it does. In my case the only time I've had a major problem was when i was trying to play Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, had to change it to English again or i would be unable to proceed due to a bug.

The only other bother that occurs sometimes is when a Installer assumes your language is the System Locale one so the installer is in japanese and sometimes sets the default language as Japanese, but this can easily be changed.

Other than that, it's cake.

Strange...I've never heard of this problem before. I could see it if your pc couldn't keep up the loading of the VN but I have a hard time believing your pc is that bad. I honestly don't know what it could be

Yeah it's really weird. Everything works fine when I'm not running it in the locale. Just... it's not in the locale so the text is fugly.

It does. It fucks up certain programs rarely. But I just run them trough English applocale.

Well, I got it to stop acting up.
But now the game is just making me sad.
