The official Assault Lily discord is not awful, but that's because the "global" (read: English-using) people are sequestered into a chat separate from the Japanese-using ones who actually have some comprehension of the subject matter they are discussing. If allowed to interact with the general populace I have little doubt that they are going to be like those losers who comment "I don't know Japanese but this is so funneh" in YouTube livestream chats.

I think the divide between vtubers and anime is distinct enough that no vtuber will ever be invited to anisama, even if there is some overlap between the fanbases.

Anisama is still anime-related singers first, and vtubers do not do original songs that get used in anime, only covers.

You're entitled to your view but the 3 cast members she mentioned in the tweet, and the others tweeting about her, are people she's spent extended amounts of time with for TFG, Old Maid, then now vol. 6. I think there is a difference between expressing gratitude to senpais in the business/project and name-dropping them to boost one's image, and in the case of the latter they wouldn't have any obligation to respond to her. Besides, isn't her age not made public? I get the sense that she's not as young as the literal JKs they got though is probably in her late teens or early twenties. So there's a likelihood that she doesn't have much say in the image her management wants to portray, as you seem to suggest, but her senpais also want to support and look out for her since it's her first time as zachou.

Also I quite doubt the insufferable English crowd even knows or cares what the Ludvico Girls School series is about when they weren't around to make stupid remarks during her appearance in TFG.

The position is "ring announcer," like what MahoAi did a while back with the Starlight-Stardom collab. Basically reading out the names of the matches and wrestlers. I'm not sure if she will get the opportunity to commentate, MahoAi had the benefits of (a) RabuPro discussions to get Maho familiar with the wrestling business (b) Aiai's experience as a Stardom trainee and actual wrestler and (c) other commentators who are good conversationalists that helped maintain the flow of commentary.

A ring announcer for the most part "only" has to be sure of pronouncing names correctly and knowing how to get out of harm's way if things get heated before the referee steps in.

The conventional way of entering a Japanese university is taking central assessments at the end of high school. You know those portrayals in media of kids who do nothing but cram and sleep/eat/go to the bathroom so they might make it to Tokyo U?

I don't know if there are means by which an adult whose studying years are behind her can enrol in a university worth anything. Going to a decent trade school to gain marketable/practical skills (like a seiyuu academy) is a lot more commonplace among those who didn't go to or complete university for whatever reason.

I'm reminded of that time Ayasa revealed that the composers/arrangers for flame of hope asked her for her input about the length of the guitar solo and she "irresponsibly" (her words, not mine) said it should be longer because of in-story reasons and Hina's efforts at practicing. So the guitar solo ended up about doubled in length.

The pandemic screwed up/derailed a lot of Starlight stuff, but she makes appearances in Hibiki Style and was in pretty mainstream/longrunning anime like Conan, Precure, Digimon tri etc, and her solo music career is doing fairly well.

I want to know how bushiroad handles their talents. Looking at the list of seiyuu they have under Hibiki, not a lot of them are in anime that isn't bushi IPs or have had much success in their solo careers.

the list of guys they have is almost exclusively VAs for vanguard and argonavis while the girls they handle are mostly the same, but under AL/D4Dj/Bandori/Revue.

Aiai for example, her solo career is managed by Bushiroad Music, and it seemed like it wasn't really marketed or handled all that well which is a waste of her talent. Aimi too, her redebut album is under King Records and Mimori is usually handled by Pony Canyon I think. I just think the music production end of Bushiroad is kinda weird

Care to elaborate on what you are referring to by "solo career"? I'm guessing you mean as recording artists since you mentioned Aiai, Aimin and Mimorin. Though if we expand the definition to a more "tarento" sort of career doing modelling/live action acting/commercials and such, then there is more to consider besides music production quality and CD sales.

I've seen Aiai fans (who are much more hardcore at supporting her compared to myself) complain, rightfully, about how her solo music career is mismanaged. Like the ticketing fiasco with her recent solo concert, or the fumbled marketing for her CD releases. I get the sense that Bushiroad Music exists mostly so there can be a corporate arm to get involved with the production of OPs/EDs/soundtracks to Bushiroad-related works, but it's not great at appealing to normies or people who don't watch their shows/play their games. Compare say Hamasaki at Avex or even Mizuki Nana for King Records; these are artists with actual star power who have mainstream recognition and the management to push their careers.

On that note, when we consider Soramaru's and Ozapure's careers post-Hibiki it looks like they have more freedom to do what they enjoy, or at least have more room to do stuff that they weren't really seen doing when with Hibiki. I don't doubt that was a pull factor which drew them to their current agencies.

Pretty much this. The upside is that the seiyuu have plenty of works and show up in IRL programs like radio shows often but the downside is that as part of the audience (for me at least) there is a certain burnout of hearing the same handful seiyuu in most bushiroad projects. Like most of the d4dj cast is from other bushi works so it's hard for them to establish themselves as its own thing
I think more stuff like Afterglow with a bunch of seiyuu unrelated to bushi would be great, as would letting their seiyuu show up in other anime. From Hibiki I think only Mimorin has had big roles in non-bushi anime

That aside, Ozaki was no stranger to controversy, like the time she appeared on some TV variety show, and whether as the result of her poor choice of words, clever editing, or a combination of various such factors, came under fire for apparently disrespecting the need to be in healthy shape for her work (by admitting she eats spicy food without consideration for her schedule, which of course has adverse effects for voice work) and disrespecting an industry veteran (I forget who but it was a lady who's done voice acting for decades).
