GGs. PROTIP: Stop air-teching all the time. There are times when its appropriate but against someone who's good in the corner, you'll eat a lot of damage.

If you saved any of those replays watch them and notice how much damage you're taking because of it.

>>3467892
Yeah, I did notice that and felt pretty silly because of it. Usually it's because I think I might be able to squeeze through, although a lot of the time it's just me slacking off and not paying much attention to the game.

So, when you wakeup/stand up, you generally can't attack first.
It's best to block on wakeup, as you saw when I beat you down in the corner with Tenshi by just using the same attack 4 times in a row (I could've continued if you tried to attack again, but that isn't fun). Simply block my attack and react afterwards (should my move be punishable, attack back, otherwise highjump out of the corner (and prepare for me to jump after you). Also groundtech more often (D+left or right), so I don't have such an easy time to attack you after your wakeup.
If I stand 3 character spritelength away from you and you just use a bullet move, you can be sure I graze through and hit you with a 66B/C whatever (as I did with Yuyuko twice in row to see how you would react).

Your movement in the air is quite good, but did you notice that your play is all flying away and shooting bullets? I can graze through them and then melee (well, I did a poor job at grazing sometimes, I'm not a good player myself).
Did you notice that I took some heavy damage once you added more melee to your game? Since you only shot bullets before before, I carelessly grazed into melee range without expecting a melee attack. So train your melee, also don't forget Sakuya's 623BC move. If I'm not in range for melee or 66C or am knocked down, you can coat the screen in 214BC and close in with a j5A which is a good combo starter.
That's about all I know about Sakuya.

Thanks for the advice.
The flying away/using tons of bullet strategy is how I started playing with Sakuya since it was at the time my idea of how she would be like (millions of knives in the air etc) and I've had a hard time changing that. That's also the reason why I still have the time stopping/slowing spellcards since imo they're kinda lackluster actually and pretty easy to counter.
Also, I find blocking in this game pretty hard to get used to compared to most other fighters I've played, and that's another reason why I don't like staying in melee. I guess training makes perfect though.

While time is stopped you can hit me with about 3 dial-As, but you chose to shoot tons of knives instead which are I can easily block/graze once time flows again.

GGs Udo, is Iku your main or were you just also training with her?
Well, it seems I could win against your Iku with some characters, not with others. Of course I can't beat your Iku with my Iku (I'm quite horrible with her) and you got that broken alternate skillcard.
Why weren't you using that spell more? If you did, I'm sure you had won twice as many games. That skill has a hitbox the size of half the screen and blocks any bullets. I also can't graze in and attack with some characters (Remilia for instance).

>with pretty much every character
If I remember correctly I repeatedly lost with Suwako (ohgod), Remilia(THATgraze), Sanae(fuck Kanako isn't working), Meiling(I CAN'T GET INTO MELEE!), Iku(skill), Alice (don't know more than 6A and dolls), Utsuho(so slow), Aya(I could pressure you only in one match).
There is no much skill involved in 5C Patchouli (sorry for the spam). After some time, you didn't fall for the guardcrushes anymore either.

Reisen is my main, but in the first round of our match, you beat me nearly perfect. Then I switched to a less aggressive play style.

So, now I'll look up that seemingly broken skill on mizuumi. Must have a weakness.

Iku is my main indeed. Or more like i play her almost exclusively, I don't have the balls to start sucking again with another character so i won't be able to pick random char before long.
Using the alternate 22B/C relentlessly sounds appealing but i think that would kill the fun for you.
I know i wouldn't be happy to fight someone who spams dem dragon whiskers all over, so i try not to overuse it. Maybe it costs me a few wins, but i think this is fine. However, if 22b had a faster startup, i think i'd use it all the time as anti air. So far, it seems to me that Iku's anti air possibilities are extremely poor, i'm helpless against j5A AA etc combos coming from above 40°.

I think you definitely bested me with Meiling and Remilia, even if the fights could sometime look balanced. All i did was getting out of range and hope you'd do a mistake because you grazed all my zoning bullets. If you had decided to go full melee (and i know you could), you would have made short work of my Iku. Iku is a lightweight giant hotbox floating around. i Think my win against your reisen was just luck.

VS Utsuho is fun, it's like a weed touhoe taking on a crack touhoe ; so is VS Alice because DANGER ZONE EVERYWHERE.

Thanks for the netplay

Assuming you mean corner pressure, her basic string 4A (4A) 6A 6C 421C hj. 2A reset has a hole during which you can dash or highjump out between 6A and 6C. "AoA" did ring a bell, but I'm unsure whether it might be from here or some other place, like IRC in my (short) time, if you row that boat.

I must confess that I was at times childishly concentrated, as you may have noticed, and more concentrated about testing out stuff rather than the match itself. The fireballs are for me 100% keep-away, be aware of that, but also sometimes zoning when put together with specific specials. In past times I'd get a little ashamed of it, but it wears off quickly when playing against 66C Yukaris. Anyway, it's relaxing to play with Patchi.

Suwako was previously my main training character, but she's built to make the player rage, so it basicly wore off. But I stil enjoy playing her from times to times.

Combos are pretty simple in this game (relative to IaMP, at any rate). Just practice a midscreen ground combo, corner combo, and air combo. Most air combos are stuff like j.5A j.6A/j.8A and then some projectile. Most ground combos are 5AAA + (some projectile). Often there are several choices, some harder than others--pick whichever ones you can do consistently but deal the most damage.

Shouldn't take more than an hour in practice mode, then play people and see if you can land them in-game.

Otherwise, that Patchi should've been rapebait all day!

Because of my avoidance to use Patchi's j.5C or Yuyu/Yukari's 66C in matches tend cost me, I guess you can say I do hide my powerlevel, unless I just resort to using them.

What are you supposed to do for anti-air? Every time I play my opponent does the same air dash jump in combo over and over again and I'm completely powerless because I have no way of punishing it. It's impossible to hit someone with projectiles when they're coming in for an attack, air melee beats all ground melee, if I block it I get trapped in an insane block string and if I run away they just do it again.

This is a very silly game.

You should move yourself into a position where they can't jump in easily. Really, the only thing I can think is that you're zoning poorly. There generally isn't a single-move solution in that case.

If the jump-in attempt is very transparent (i.e. predictable) and not even protected with some kind of projectile, shouldn't be too challenging. Utusho's 3A, Komachi's 5A/3A, Sanae's 6A, Cirno's 5C, and Patchouli's 5C are moves that immediately come to mind. Even so, high jumping straight up can be pretty hard to punish even if the person on offense predicts it.

Ultimately I'm inclined to think you are either spacing/zoning poorly or too predictable in some manner, or your opponent is just too good. Sorry couldn't be of much help.

Shame, Lim. You were doing much better yesterday. Are you perhaps having a bad day?
Good show regardless, I should probably start looking up real tricks with Yuyuko, I just might make her my second Main!

GGs no profile.

You probably will want to play Sakuya differently. 6C/j.6C is nice, but it has slow spirit recovery and it's not hard for someone to graze them all day. hj8 j.2C has very little coverage. Use more j.5C and try to follow it up.

>"Style of play"? I play characters however I feel is most effective for them, not according to some overall playstyle
That's what I'm talking about. The way you were playing Reimu and Marisa was unbelievably defensive which was boring. When I get bored I stop trying which is why I was doing a lot better in the later games because it became less boring.

That was pretty much my first day of playing Reimu. And how was it defensive? I was constantly looking to land j.5A at every chance.

RAAAAH, THAT SCYTHE!!! So many times I thought I cleared it and got wallsmacked! Same with Kanako. Anyway, I shall figure a way to deal with Meltanachi. Thought BE back would work, but I'm not good with a BE follow up, so back into the 2AAAAAAs I went.

Thanks for the matches. Always learning new things fighting you.

It's the ONLY combo for Stopwatch. Anything else is fail! I hate I fucked up the ending going into Knives SC w/o Dial A set-up.

Not trippin on the 2As, figured you were working on when to break out for 6A. Also, I shudder at those staggered 2As...

Can someone give me advice when against Yukari? I always have such a big problem with her. Her projectiles gets me a lot and when I do get pass them I get hit with her 623 or 421

I got no choice. She looks like she's built to run. Even her j6c pushes me away and her fly isn't that great for approaching.

Hmm, even I have a lot of trouble against a good Yukari with Youmu. The problem is that Yukari's long range makes it difficult to punish her with Youmu melee. Generally, I try not to confront her head on without insurance in the form of bullets because her stop sign kick and fire pinwheel is so effective. I have to kick the habit of low aerial grazing since teleport, umbrella and fire pinwheel will nail you, and even if you're in melee that you have to be cautious of purple reversal scs. Yukari is also fast enough to punish any zoning mistakes with stop sign kick unless you graze high up and forward. Now that I think about it, I can only win if I take advantage of the opponent's mistakes and watch for vulnerabilities in their strings.
