The surge of secret project reveals from MG probably means that some will get announced during the summer time. Maybe July to correspond with AX time, though since cons are still closed in the forseeable future, there's not a big reason to do it then. Secret project 8 being in beta now does suggest it may be released in 3 months time, sometime in August. Rance X and Lucky Dog aside, most of the already announced games have the potential to be released this year, but Rance IX is probably the least likely to be done by December of this year. Honestly, I would assume the Shitsuji fan disk and the rest of Higurashi Hou to be cancelled projects at this point, but who knows for sure?

Do you mean you watched the anime of WA1? If so, WA2 isn't a sequel and it's not written by the same person, so you shouldn't judge it based off of that. It just has some thematic similarities and a few references to the first game.

>As of now, CODA has since been fully translated with the exception of its H scenes, which primarily includes the retranslation of CODA Common by @frogstat from the ground up. I myself have been busy with @Krizs tinkering with CC side girl routes (which were admittedly heavily flawed in quality), sometimes nearly retranslating entire segments, and since then, Koharu is now fully edited, Chiaki is very nearly complete, and Mari will follow shortly after. It feels like 50% of JAST releases the last 12 months are BL titles and the rest are decade old already fan-translated titles.
I really want to like JAST since they are anti mosaic no matter what, but them refusing to hire additional staff to speed things up really hurts, it isn't like they are bleeding money since they are fine with releasing titles with half the voices missing or cutting out questionable H-scenes and release it as a unofficial patch.

Due to the way averages work, I assume a score is about .5 lower than it would be than without troll 1 votes (troll low votes tend to affect the average score more than troll high votes), especially once a title gets more attention after being released in English. Median or mode tend to be more accurate the further the score is away from 5, but that assumes a normalish distribution. If you want to try calculating the average without outliers, good practice is to eliminate the highest score whenever you take out the lowest outlier and vice versa to get a more accurate number in the end. Taking off just the lowest outlier without taking off the highest score skews the average number up.

Every rating i ever seen is terribly flawed. They all asume that people are equally likely to live 0 and 10, that every damn user finished the thing before voting, that opinion of voters were not influenced by side factors ( Some e-persona opinion swaying the %, organized troll raids etc, negative mood due to some global event, autor making the dumb twit etc ). I recently talked with a person from marketing team, he told me you can ( and they did ) manipulate the rating on App store just by limiting the voting time to days with good weather and a holidays. The implication is that the people he translates this VN for are poorly read and would need a dictionary to grasp the vocabulary, and this is something he's flat out stated in the past in regards to another VN that turned out to be babby tier. That's absolutely hilarious coming from someone who primarily consumes visual novels. I have my doubts that the level of reading comprehension required to appreciate Muramasa would be anywhere near the level of someone regularly consumes real literature.

The western fiction equivalent of the wank surrounding Muramasa would be R. Scott Bakker's Prince of Nothing and Aspect-Emperor novels. This is kind of amusing. Is Narahara Ittetsu some kind of established, professional writer? As far as I can tell the only things he's written are two VNs, which means absolutely nothing as far as "literary credentials" are concerned. The only sense I can see you referring to him as a "professional writer" is by the fact that he's made money from his writing, but in that same sense you're dealing with "professional translators and editors."

Finally with the translation of Muramasa, Conjueror's prediction can be fulfilled:
>This here is the work that could easily be grouped together with War & Peace by human civilization in the future, when the initial skepticism about new mediums will be long blown away from visual novels by the passage of time.
In the universities of the future, this is the translation that students will study as they tackle the greatest works of the 21st century. It will be referenced by academic journals and doctoral theses. Perhaps it will even be retranslated by future literary scholars, and arguments will rage over which translation is superior (Moogy's of course). What an amazing time to live in.

You mean Fia being 縁結びの神?
It’s indeed the wrong translation in Amayui’s case because 縁結び here refers to connections in general, human relations: parent and child, husband and wife etc.
Fia is someone who ties human relations so to say, connects them.

No idea about VNDB but I would use god of fate binding, FateBinder or god of connections and localize it as such, EOPs have no idea what 縁結び even refers to there and what 縁 is so I guess whoever TL’d it just threw the thing in Jisho, got god off marriage as a result and called it a day. Even though all you need to do is to simply google it and you’ll get explanation of what it actually means.
