It depends on the level in the dere scale.
Louise is an extreme, there are more mild tsunere like Kyou from clannad, and Hinagiku from HnG, the latter being non abusive and one of the most adorable beings ever created, without being an annoying mary-sue.

That or sadists, it really depends on the example and the reason you are into them. With Louise she's the extreme of tsundere to the point of physically abusing her man (who she won't often admit is her man).

However, with some others the attraction can be about taking a aloof proud girl who sees you below her station and basically getting to the point she's so desperate for you she's embarrassed admitting it and the character is dragging it out almost cruelly to she has to be more desperate with what she'll admit.

It all depends on your angle. Same could be said for people who are into Yandere. Do you like the idea of your crazy girl forcing you down for your own good and loving you regardless of your own feelings, or are you into the idea of playing with this clearly obsessed insecure girl until she hurts herself or other?
