Hey /jp/
When ever I play a VN I always go for the ronery/neutral/bad ending first, so I can get to know the characters without actively perusing them trying to stay as neutral/or all over the play as I can on first play through.
The second time around I then capture characters in order of most liked to most disliked, based on personality then looks.

I have a friend that captures in order of oldest to youngest characters, (or bad asses his way through the game, a lot of bad ends) while rushing head first through younger routes faster than the previous.

Any specific way you go about capturing and/or playing in VN /jp/?

similar process, since i usually find the normal/bad ends more amusing - i try to do the shittier seeming ones first though, and usually save the 'true' heroine/route for last

I try to keep my favourite character for last, because the last route I play sort of feels like the "true" route. I failed with Haruka na Sora, though, and went straight for Sora because I'd been waiting so long.

I go from worst characters to last and save the normal/bad ending until the end.

I really enjoy making choices I'd really make if I were the protagonist and seeing how it ends up. Sometimes bad end, sometimes with a girl I don't care for. Sometimes epic win.

Generally I choose a character based on personality to go for before I start playing a VN.

Usually that changes as I get attached to the characters as I read. For the most part I choose decisions based on how I would act normally, unless it's an obvious decision towards a certain heroine.

I always go for the onee-san/tomboy/girl with boisterous personality first. Emotionless girls never really interested me much so I may stop playing the game without ever doing their routes.

I aim for the character I like, end up selecting the choices I like rather than the ones necessary for her route, and end up either getting somebody I didn't expect and liking them or bad ending.

I usually go with my least favorite girl first. If there is an older character though, then that would probably be the first. After that, I weave between girl I like to girl I dislike for the rest of the game.

I find this way helps me get through games where I don't like everyone.

I like completing the main heroine's story first. The order from that point is usually more random.

Funny that you say that because I usually always do that route last. I usually hate the main heroine so she is dead last.

Kirari and Nagisa were the two that came into my head first. Except Nagisa should be last...

my first playthrough i just pick whatever choice tickles my fancy at any time and end up on whoever's route. by then I've started to develop a hierarchy of favorites and then I go after them in order.
